The “Water Cooler” is a feature on Claycord.com where we ask you a question or provide a topic, and you talk about it.

The “Water Cooler” will be up Monday-Friday in the noon hour.

QUESTION: Do you do a majority of your Christmas shopping online or in the store? Also – do you plan to, or did you go black Friday shopping today?

Depends on what it is, but most of my shopping is done in the store. I like to look, touch, feel, and inspect the item I’m buying, especially clothes. Another reason I’d rather shop in a store is because I don’t want to see any more stores going out of business. As for Black Friday, I never have, and never will. I absolutely abominate crowds and waiting in a long line.
By the way, Black Friday is a proper noun and is capitalized.

We don’t do chisitmas shopping or black Friday as we don’t have kids in the family and it’s just us adults and older kids. We have dinner and spend time together but we don’t do gifts. We are adults if we want something we by it our selfs, if we need something was ask for help. With that said, when we were little of if kids are involved they get gifts and we go through the whole routine. But none of us see a point in putting extra stress on the holidays when we are just fine spending time together.

I do the majority of my shopping online, Christmas or not.

With gas at $5 a gallon and so many local stores are so low in inventory, it makes more sense to me to order things I need for delivery.

I’d rather spend my money with local small businesses.

I have so much trouble finding what I need locally, or else the price is much higher than online.

For me, waiting a couple of days for delivery is better for my health and pocketbook than calling around and driving someplace to not find what I need or priced out of my budget.

Are wallets optional? Can we just pick out what we need and walk out?

.
Online usually.. depends on shipping costs.

Shopping downtown. Not online.

Don’t really have a list, but spent $300 so far today. I put aside a few bucks each month, so will not be looking for deals. If I think it’s a great gift for someone, I’m buying it.

Can anyone tell me how to shoplift online? Asking for, well, you know who.

We do not do much Christmas shopping anymore.
Online shopping is not our thing…brick & mortar works for us.
We did pick up a few things today for our needs, since they were on sale.

..online… too much traffic due to the unplanned growth of communities and infrastructure… not nearly enough parking, low inventory, now days you never know if you’re going to get heisted either…. used to really like to go shopping… not now

Both. I like the convenience of shopping on line but also enjoy supporting local businesses. I’ve never shopped on Black Friday but my Wife and I always took the Ferry over to San Francisco to have Lunch and walk around Union Square and look at the Christmas decorations. We decided against it this year because Union Square resembles a Third World Country war zone.

I agree.
Did this 2 years ago prior to Covid and the city has turned into a Sh*t Hole. It’s really too bad how the Democrats have turned this great city into CRAP.

Probably do most shopping in person (as most of it will be from Home Depot or Lowes). Did not go out today, and haven’t for many years now. Used to be fun when each store/mall had unique decorations, and everything was completely decked out for Christmas. That seemed to ebb for many years, where it became “holiday” shopping, and there was a strong avoidance of saying “Christmas.” That took away the pleasure of walking, listening to the music, seeing the festive decorations, so, stopped going.
