Concord Police Arrest Two For DUI During Enforcement Patrol

Concord Police arrested two drivers on suspicion of DUI while conducting a DUI enforcement patrol on Thursday night.

Drivers charged with DUI face an average of $13,500 in fines and penalties, as well as a suspended license.

Concord Police Department reminds the public that impaired driving is not just from alcohol. Some prescription medications or over-the-counter drugs may interfere with driving. Always follow directions for use and read warning labels about driving or operating heavy machinery, which includes driving a car. While medicinal and recreational marijuana is legal, driving under the influence of marijuana is illegal.

Concord Police Department will be holding a series of DUI enforcement patrols throughout the year.

Why did Joe Biden then say that drunk driving was no big deal?

Concord PD is the best.

It’s a shame people still think they can get away with DUI.

Just like running lights, speeding, breaking all of the other traffic laws,

they all get caught, eventually.

And everyone will claim that it wasn’t their fault and they’ll have some sort of lame excuse.

Such a tragedy that so many people refuse to be responsible for their own actions.

It’s sad that so many people refuse to be accountable.

It’s astounding to listen to all the people who just don’t get it.

Getting drunk and driving is a conscious, premeditated choice. They know they are at risk of hurting or killing someone. The laws need to reflect this, as well as how easy it is to 1) just NOT drink and 2) get alternate transportation if you do choose to drink. The punishment for any drunk driving should e so harsh that people would never even consider it. It is a completely and utterly selfish decision. Anyone who has EVER driven drunk should be horrifically ashamed of themselves.

Big deal. How about beating down all the criminal elements in our midst. Granted DUI is bad but all of the other thievery going on now days is way worse and needs to be controlled immediately.. LE resources could be used in many better ways.

What streets do they do the checkpoints?

What checkpoints?

Despite the huge production (all those lights, the gauntlet of uniformed officers, the flank of a motorcycle unit to catch drivers dipping out), I genuinely think the DUI enforcement stops are an excellent use of police resources. Get the inebriated off the roads before they do damage. Some of the worst accidents in the area were caused by drivers under the influence.

Plus, in a weird way, it’s a good opportunity for the community to meet the police officers and vice versa, in a non-incident situation. I’ve gone through a couple of the checkpoints on holidays in the past. The officers always come off respectful. Some of them will even address you as “Sir” or “Mr.” It feels like a trip to the South, in a good way.
