Police in Fairfield have recovered $50,000 in stolen jewelry and arrested three suspects who had allegedly smashed jewelry store display cases to steal the items.
Dominick Desouza, 19, from Antioch, and a 16-year-old and a 17-year-old were arrested on suspicion of robbery, police said.
On Wednesday at 2:10 p.m., officers with the Fairfield Police Department responded to a report of individuals entering a jewelry store in the Solano Town Center mall and using bats and hammers to break the glass counter tops to steal jewelry.
The suspects then fled the area with the stolen jewelry. Police said there were no reports of injuries.
Investigators identified Desouza and the two juveniles as suspects in the case, and they were taken into custody.
It’s unknown if police have connected these suspects to the smash and grab robbery at a jewelry store earlier this week at the Sunvalley Mall.
Lock them up and throw away the key. Looks like Fairfield police are better than the Concord police.
Way to go Fairfield PD, Concord PD can learn from them.
Circumstances in cases could be, and probably are, different. Concord PD you are the creme de la creme. Thank you for your hard work shift after shift. Stay safe.
Not kid stuff, nor should the penalty be
This is where I wish we could outsource
interrogators such as Saudi and Pakistani intelligence personnel. They have a unique way of making suspects talk about what they know to solve crimes and close cases fairly quick.
Are you really suggesting we should become like Saudi or Pakistan? You do realize that even if you are just accused of something you might not be dealt with kindly. Our system is not perfect, but is better than most, more just and humane. I understand the frustration over these crimes, but lets not over react.
Oh wow I’m so suprised they are from antioch.
Via by Oakland, Vallejo and Richmond.
surprise surprise…they were not from Walnut Creek or Pleasant Hill
Please stop with the sterotyping. I have many customers from Antioch, who are perfectly nice and honest people, pay their bills and shop for the family. Both Concord and Fairfield have criminals living there.
I would also HIGHLY recommend that you also not stereotype individuals – for whatever reason.
Sounds like a copycat, also seems like these very young people were pretty clumsy at it, thus they got caught. Hope the catch the ones that did same in SunVally Mall.
Wonder if license plate reading cameras played a key roll in finding get away vehicle used by these very low intellect copycats. Being from antioch is NO surprise.
