The California Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control (ABC) has announced it will administer a $398,000 grant to help reduce impaired driving and continue the effort to lower the number of Californians killed or injured in DUI crashes.
The grant was awarded to ABC by the California Office of Traffic Safety (OTS) through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA). Through this grant, ABC will oversee community outreach focused on educating the public about impaired driving in the effort to reduce driving deaths and injuries.
The outreach efforts will bring awareness to youth and DUI offenders about the consequences and impact of impaired driving through collaboration with educational leaders and institutions, students, and parents.
“ABC supports this effort to educate communities about the impact of impaired driving. We all strive to make public highways safer in California,” said ABC Director Eric Hirata.
If people aren’t aware yet that alcohol (and many other legal and illegal substances) can impair your judgement and ability to drive, there really is no hope for them.

Wondering what the real cost of borrowing the federal grant money from China. Is this what democrats call “infrastructure?”
👍👍👍
First offense – revoke their license for 5 years and jail for a year. Second offense -10 years.
They’ll learn.
Waste of taxpayer funds. Parents teach your children, adults should already know this.
The thing that will reduce impaired driiving is a ten year mandatory sentence upon conviction of a second dui.
.
Jeez… nearly $400K for “safety” and “awareness”.
.
A waste of public funds.

The Pandemic has made a drug and alcohol addicted circus here in California. Look around next time you are out and about!
