Concord has received about 4-inches of rain since midnight, and the Walnut Creek’s (that’s the name of the creek) water level is quickly rising.

This video was taken at about 4 p.m. off Diamond Blvd., behind the Concord Hilton.

Contra Costa County Public Works crews are working to clear mud, tree branches and debris on roads impacted by the storm.

The following roads in Contra Costa County are closed due to flooding.

Concord Ave under 680 was flooded pretty bad too about an hour ago, especially going toward downtown. Police already had a lane closed.

I posted pics of all the trash in this creek. All taken out to our oceans. We can’t have straws but the city won’t clean the trash from the homelss or remove them. Then they let all the garbage wash out to our ocean! The city should be held accountable! So sad

the city does what the majority of the citizens vote for. the citizens of concord have become very accepting of the homeless and their camps.

You have no idea what you are talking about concords hands are tied on this they try but can’t take there property…breaks my heart what is getting washed into the ocean

I love the ocean too, but you know, the ocean is big and it can absorb these few events.
It’s probably still less than what third world countries throw in the ocean every single day.
We are not always to blame. I was shocked to hear that many times up to 30% of the bay area’s air pollution came in from China. So it’s good and hard as we try the bad actors are still doing more damage.

Maybe this will clean that area up. It has been a joke the way concord allows these bums to live in the ditch. C’mon concord voters, you can do better.

OMG…we’re all going to die…shelter in place…say your prayers…this is climate change what Greta Thunberg and AL Gore have been warning us about…

Seeing this event gives me an idea for Concord.
Keep this stream / river filled and create a park or river walk along it. How great would it be to hike along the banks?
We need to expand and improve our recreation resources.

As I proposed before, we should excavate & dredge the creek to the level it was at 200 years ago… before we filled it with mud from all the building and agriculture upstream.
Pacheco used to be a port!
Since the creek and wetlands are being fawned and fussed over I think restoring the creek, tidal flow and making it a fish friendly environment again would be an obvious goal.

Woke up at 7 AM to hard pounding rain suddenly hitting the window. A few minutes later it was just a light rain. By 8 AM the sun came out and drying things up. Now I want to know when the next rain is coming.

All that water is going out to the delta. What a waste of water. Why don’t they make a huge lake at the Naval weapons station.
