Modern China Cafe, located at 1525 N. Main St. in Walnut Creek, was forced to close last week due to a cockroach infestation, according to the Contra Costa County Department of Environmental Health.

Health Inspectors say they found the following during their inspection:

  • Multiple cockroaches observed on food contact surfaces, walls, and equipment.
  • 3 live cockroaches on food prep table.
  • 5 live cockroaches behind posted paper on wall in transition area between server area and main prep area.
  • 5 live cockroaches on warning lights above 3 compartment sink.
  • 5 – 10 live cockroaches near the warewash facility.
  • Mold-like build up observed in the ice machine across walk in refrigerator
  • Observed frozen shelled shrimp and frozen sliced chicken thighs thawing in the open air.

The cafe has since been re-inspected and reopened.

Takes more than a week to get rid of roaches. Sounds like a good place to stay away from with the rest of the list adding mold on open air thawing.

The roaches were attracted by the smell of gunpowder from the shooting.

The globalists want society to start eating bugs…

You would hope places you eat at would take better care of their establishment.
3 live cockroaches on food prep table. That is just we don’t give a hoot.

another low class, terrible place that takes up a prime location in Walnut Creek. Time to move out!

FYI – they were closed in the past for this exact same thing. At this point they should be FORCED to use a pest/cleaning service. SMH

Shame, I’ve eat there a few times and the food was excellent, especially the hot and sour soup. But with so many significant violations, it’s unlikely I’ll ever return there … sweet and sour cockroach no thanks. I guess I’ll stick with Dragon’s Pond just down the street.

This is the same restaurant where the dine and dash shooting happened. Add this roach situation as another reason for why not eat there.

Maybe the shooter didn’t pay because he had reaches crawling in his food?

.
It’s an authentic Chinese restaurant!
.

Comprete wit CockLoaches.

Haha.
.
You funny, round-eye!

“Round-Eye” That’s not so bad…. I’ve been called worse…Gweilo, Wanksta, Pale Face, Honky, Cracker, Ofay, Redneck, White Trash, Pasty Face, Baizuo (I am NOT one of those) The Man, Blanquito, Gringo, Gasparín and Haole.

Have the roaches been vaccinated?

Were those roaches wearing a mask?

I must say that it takes a special kind of dirty to end up with mold in your ice machine. How did they manage that? Asking for a Microbiologist.

Their Bat Spring Rolls are to die for as is their Bat Potstickers. The General Tao’s Glazed Pangolin is just so so.

Every Bat order come with guano dipping sauce

All the restaurants have roaches. These guys just got caught.

You mean the customers?

I’m triggered!

They automatically charge an 18% service charge on ALL orders. Dine in, take-out or throw-away.

Bad thing about roaches is, once you get them in a place like that, you can never get rid of them. Not unless you tent the buildings for a city block and fumigate.
