The California Department of Public Health expanded the state’s COVID-19 vaccination mandate to require senior care facility and in-home care workers to be fully vaccinated.
The update to the state’s mandate will require people who work in adult and senior care facilities, certified home care aides, hospice care workers and employees of the state’s facilities serving people with developmental and intellectual disabilities to be fully vaccinated by Nov. 30.
The state has already required health care workers, K-12 teachers and state employees to get vaccinated or test at least once a week for COVID-19.
“We can and must continue to protect our most vulnerable communities from the ongoing threat of COVID-19,” CDPH Director and state Public Health Officer Dr. Tomas Aragon said in a statement. “These care settings are home to Californians with complex medical conditions, all of whom are at high risk of having severe but preventable outcomes including hospitalization, severe illness, and death.”
As of Wednesday, 83.9 percent of state residents age 12 and older have received at least one COVID-19 vaccine dose while 69 percent are fully vaccinated.
State residents can visit https://myturn.ca.gov, https://myturn.ca.gov/index.html or call (833) 422-4255 to schedule a vaccination appointment or find a walk-in vaccination clinic in their county.

Mandates are laws. A mandate cannot be put in place without express statutory authority from the legislature.

Before you blame the Dems for all your issues. Ask yourself this. Who issued the 1st Stay at home order Mandate? Hmmmm, Oh ya. It was that last guy who was in office because he lied to everyone. Trump. What side was he on? Oh Republican. If you noticed the ones that have the lowest amount of covid cases are ones that still have mandates. Interesting hmmm. Don’t put this as a Dem vs Rep. Has nothing to do with that because that all is what Rep do. It’s sad. Do you noticed that everytime we drop the mandate is when numbers shoot way up? All they are trying to do is get it under control. Over 600k dead in a year. And that is a low number.

A mandate is NOT a law. There is a difference.
A law is passed by the senate/house. In short by a governmenatl body. A law is not passed by a signle person. Even when Newscum is grandstanding by signing laws, he is only doing so after the rest of our government has approved it.
A mandate is something that is passed by a single entity, ie a (crooked in the case of California) governor. They have this power because of the legislature has given the governor some additional power during a state of emergency. Why hasn’t Newscum ended his state of emegerency … cause he could no longer dictate to us his edicts to us is my guess.
Yes, mandates can be enforced LIKE a law, but they are NOT a law. A mandate SHOULD have an expiration date, the ones being dicatated in California do not at this moment.

Had trouble finding a date and time for the booster thru John Muir so I tried the county health website. Done and done! Walk up clinic on Oak Grove Road. Made an appointment but I think they’ll take anyone. All the wanted was the actual vax record and an ID. Done in 25 minutes.
Walgreens is pretty much wide open too.

I mean, it would certainly explain why the public at large is so frightened of getting Covid; but, this is the first I’ve heard of it.
This is the profession where a vaccine mandate is most justifiable, but it needs to be an immunity mandate: if you had Covid before, that should satisfy the mandate. There’s no scientific basis for treating an unvaxxed person with previous Covid infection differently than a vaxxed person with no previous Covid infection. If anything, the former may have more durable immunity.
But if the vaxx doesnt prevent one from getting or transmitting the virus, or even death, what is the point??? I could understand mandates, however strongly I am against them, if there was a vaxx that was truly effective and knocked covid on its behind, but there isnt. Makes no sense aside from wanting to control people.
