The Contra Costa County Sheriff’s Office has sent deputies to the Dixie Fire area to help their law-enforcement counterparts in Plumas County and Lassen County.
The department is currently in its third multi-day deployment at the fire. The teams have included sheriff’s deputies as well as officers from the Concord Police Department and the East Bay Regional Park District.
The Contra Costa County sheriff’s deputies are conducting patrols, providing security in the fire-ravaged areas, and assisting with evacuations.
“Mutual aid in California is a system that allows one county to assist another,” Contra Costa County Sheriff David Livingston said in a statement. “We are proud to be of service and it is our way to help devastated communities in Lassen and Plumas counties as they cope with this disaster.”
