Air district officials issued an air quality advisory for Monday as haze and smoke from wildfires lingers above the Bay Area.
Pollution levels are not expected to exceed federal health standards and no Spare the Air Alert will be in effect, according to the Bay Area Air Quality Management District.
Air quality is expected to be in the good to moderate range on the air quality index. Smoke may mix to the surface, however, and cause isolated pockets of elevated pollution, air district officials said.

CA now has 5 seasons, regular 4 then, there’s newsom’ summer.
That 5th season is brought to you by Shell, Mob-oil, Chevron, and Exxon, plus all of us who drive gasoline or diesel powered vehicles. Why blame one of the lackeys?
You guys are incredible. I bet you’d blame a peanut butter shortage on Newsom. Grow the hell up.
By my count it’s two springs, a two-week summer, hell on earth, and about a month below 70 degrees.
Phil must think electricity comes from fairy dust at no cost to the environment.
We were discussing among ourselves today, that all these horrible Smokey days have only been going on since Newsom took office.
Think about that. Coincidence? Or maybe his Forest mismanagement.
Now, I don’t like him either, but to be fair and honest he took office as Governor in Jan. 2019, and I have pictures from 2018 that look like something out of Silent Hill. Just sayin…
Billions of dollars spent on vaccine coercion, free healthcare for illegals over 50, and for housing homeless…..BUT they Won’t contract with some large airplanes and start getting SERIOUS about putting these fires out!!!
“California’s 2020 wildfire season thwarted the state’s fight against climate change, spewing enough carbon dioxide into the air to equal the emissions of millions of passenger vehicles driving over the course of a year.
Those roughly 9,600 fires burned nearly 4.2 million acres, killed 31 people, and emitted an estimated 112 million metric tons of carbon dioxide, according to a California Air Resources Board report released Dec. 31. The number is akin to the greenhouse gas emissions of 24.2 million passenger cars driving in a single year”

‘Newsom Misled The Public About Wildfire Prevention Efforts Ahead Of Worst Fire Season On Record’
“An investigation from CapRadio and NPR’s California Newsroom found the governor has misrepresented his accomplishments and even disinvested in wildfire prevention. The investigation found Newsom overstated, by an astounding 690%, the number of acres treated with fuel breaks and prescribed burns in the very forestry projects he said needed to be prioritized to protect the state’s most vulnerable communities. Newsom has claimed that 35 “priority projects” carried out as a result of his executive order resulted in fire prevention work on 90,000 acres. But the state’s own data show the actual number of acres worked on for those “priority projects” is 11,399.
Overall, California’s response has faltered under Newsom. After an initial jump during his first year in office, data obtained by CapRadio and NPR’s California Newsroom show Cal Fire’s fuel reduction output dropped by half in 2020, to levels below Gov. Jerry Brown’s final year in office. At the same time, Newsom slashed roughly $150 million from Cal Fire’s wildfire prevention budget.” …
“Overall, the data show Cal Fire treated 64,000 acres in 2019,
but only 32,000 acres in 2020
and 24,000 acres through Memorial Day this year.”

Is estimated there are, going into 2021 fire season 147 million dead trees just in Sierra Nevada mountains.

Right on.
When Trump came to California to talk to Newsom about the fires, Newsom took no responsibility at all. He blamed climate change for everything. Trump didn’t let him slide and you could see the man-child Newsom was sweating because he knew no one believed his lies.
Russ what? Russ he is the governor of California. We’ve had some nasty fires under his watch and moonbeam before him. Also where is our commander and chief? We should have an air force of 250 planes hitting these fires 🔥 but I guess gifting the taliban 83 billion in military arms, vehicles, and cash from our tax payer money is more important. Phil your close but need to dig way deeper down that rabbit hole
russ reminds me of something joe said about afganistan. he said it was their fault that things fell apart. but then again democrats are famous for blaming the victims, like when they say of rape victims, “look how she was dressed, she wanted it”.
Blaming the oil companies for either climate change and or the wildfires is like blaming the banks when you run out of money. Next time you charge up your electric vehicle, heat or cool your home, use hot water to clean your dishes or bathe, fly to a destination, or use any other wonderful devices which use electricity, you may want to consider the source of that electricity. It’s usually those who complain the most about big oil companies who have the largest carbon footprints.
.
The air is fine.
.
I can see Mt. Diablo today… that’s my rule of thumb.
.
It works for me.
We need to Agent Orange some of the trees in upper Northern California, or at least more controlled burns. I haven’t heard of some of these fire towns until they get destroyed: Paradise and Strawberry never heard of them until the horrific disasters.
