Bay Area Air District Issues Advisory Thorough Tuesday

The Bay Area Air Quality Management District is extending an air quality advisory for wildfire smoke through Tuesday.

Smoke from Californian wildfires is expected to continue to impact the Bay Area on Tuesday. Lofted smoke is expected to cause hazy and smoky skies, but pollution levels are not expected to exceed federal health standards and no Spare the Air Alert is in effect.

Air quality is expected to be in the good-to-moderate range on the air quality index. The air district will be closely monitoring air quality throughout the region for smoke impacts from the fires.

Officials say it’s important to avoid exposure to smoke. If possible, stay inside with windows and doors closed until smoke levels subside, if temperatures allow. They also recommend that those impacted by smoke set their air conditioning units and car vent systems to re-circulate to prevent outside air from moving inside.

Smoke can irritate the eyes and airways, causing coughing, a scratchy throat and irritated sinuses.

Elevated particulate matter in the air can trigger wheezing in those who suffer from asthma, emphysema or COPD.

Elderly people, children and individuals with respiratory illnesses are particularly susceptible to elevated air pollution levels and should take extra precautions to avoid exposure.

Get rid of this agency and save us some money. The EPA has all the monitors they can put our an advisory through a computer algorithm. Close this agency up and divert the funds to something else.

.
I’m waiting for BAAQMD to lower standards further such that everyday will warrant some sort of advisory or proclamation.
.
Then they’ll use those lower standards to bend us over with taxes, fees, and draconian govt programs for our “safety”.
.

I agree with Exit 12A. Many of these agencies are good ole boy groups that are owed favors-hear that city council-Seeno payola boys and girls receipents- and should and need to be done away with. Regulation for law abiding citizens who work and continually get screwed to support the entitlement crowd are sick of this. The over burdened middle class needs to wise up, use their common sense and stop listening to the bleeding hearts and leftist media.

As it hits the middle class pocket books it may be to late. Wise up everyone and make your voices heard just like all of the other entitlement-reperation groups. They continually get their way. It is not wealth re distribution it is raping those who work and believe in the US who are the victims.
