A 47-year-old Martinez man has been arrested for arson.
ConFire investigators say John Shannon was arrested on arson charges after allegedly setting a fire at Starbucks on Alhambra Ave. on Monday morning.
Investigators determined the suspect had been seen loitering in the area prior to the fire.
He was further seen entering the Starbucks’ restroom and, shortly after exiting, the building began to fill with smoke.
Employees opened the bathroom door to see a trashcan on fire.
Surveillance video later confirmed witness reports, according to police.
Shannon is currently in custody at the county jail in Martinez.

If you need proof modern media is now a complete joke, KPIX said the Starbucks is at 3300 Alhambra Ave, Mtz. There is no Starbucks at 3300 Alhambra Ave. It’s in the 6600 block of Alhambra Ave. where the old Burger King was located. Just a 10 second check with Google and they would see there is no Starbucks in the 3300 block of Alhambra Ave.
