A man struck and killed by a vehicle on Kirker Pass Road in Concord early Saturday morning has been identified by the Contra Costa County coroner’s office as 25-year-old Azim Sayedi.

Sayedi had been walking across Kirker Pass between Clearbrook and Myrtle drives around 5 a.m. Saturday when a 30-year-old man driving the vehicle south struck him, according to Concord police.

Sayedi, a Concord resident, was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver stopped and cooperated with investigators, police said.

A GoFundMe account created by Sayedi’s friends has raised more than $33,000 to go toward his family. The account can be found at this link.

Did anyone find out why the Uber driver forced him out of his car on the wrong side of Kirker Pass at 5am?
