@ Cowellian ~ Try thinking about baseball

Cowellian June 18, 2021 at 9:01 PM

Why didn’t I think of that?

Actually, Tennessee has two teams in the College World Series.

Cowellian June 18, 2021 at 7:27 PM

Cowellian’s first.
Happy Fathers Day weekend to all the Dads!

Dr. Jellyfinger June 18, 2021 at 9:53 PM

Well…. you are 2nd…… that’s better!
You managed to last.

Jeff (the other one) June 18, 2021 at 9:50 PM

I am getting really tired of so many of the commercials nowadays (not that I liked many before). There are a few that still make me chuckle (aunt problem, “scoop, there it is” to name 2), but some make me cringe (the HIV commercial, the gmc? commercial singing Steam’s “Na Na Hey Hey Kiss Him Goodbye,” to name 2). So many are just awful.

TTD June 18, 2021 at 11:26 PM

@Jeff, I just love the “ scoop there it is” commercial! I always go away chanting and doing the dance moves for a few minutes after the commercial is on.

Roz June 19, 2021 at 7:21 AM

@ Jeff~

Yeah,…sick of some of the commercials too.

My favorite one right now is the guy driving down the road singing in a convertible with the singing hood ornament.
I want a singing hood ornament!

Simonpure June 19, 2021 at 10:07 AM

LMAO ROZ…you are such a nut. 🙂

BadgerMe June 19, 2021 at 11:50 AM

I laugh every time I see the the Subaru dogs commercial with the puppy in the back seat getting the truck driver to honk. We used to do that.

Roz June 20, 2021 at 8:33 AM

Also the one,…’No Pets Allowed’ in the Park and the cat is meowing in the car.

Well Folks June 22, 2021 at 8:58 AM

Love the “scoop there it is” commercial. The teen girl reminds me of a former coworkers daughter will be like in a few years. She already gets that look on her face around us silly adults. SPRINKLES!!!!!

TTD June 19, 2021 at 9:13 AM

Love that commercial also! The tune is so catchy!

Silva June 23, 2021 at 2:15 PM

The original was better.

Tsa June 19, 2021 at 10:12 AM

I disagree with the giving away of public funds to encourage people to receive COVID vaccinations. I guess they consider it used for a public purpose to avoid being charged with it being a “ gift of public funds” but it is just wrong to waste the $ in this fashion. I would recommend those that win the $1.5 million use it to immediately get the heck out of CA for a better life.

The Fearless Spectator June 19, 2021 at 3:51 PM

If someone is suspicious of the vaccine, offering them money to take it will likely make them more suspicious.

Gittyup June 20, 2021 at 3:44 PM

The State is being run by an idiot.

Antler June 19, 2021 at 10:36 AM

The Reverse Mortgage commercial prompts me to change channels.
…. very well done, but 6 months of it spaced allllll day long?????????

Well Folks June 19, 2021 at 5:15 PM

Off to Virginia City to see Lacy J Dalton perform at the Red Dog Saloon. The proceeds of the concert benefit a wild horse foundation she sponsors. It’s going to be a great evening

Kentucky Derby June 19, 2021 at 7:04 PM

Well Folks… have fun! When I read your posts, it reminds me how much I look forward to retirement. I really enjoy what I do for a living, but your posts have a nice “early retirement” theme!

Well Folks June 20, 2021 at 10:49 AM

Kentucky Derby
I view life being to short to work to long. Saw friends and co-workers die way to young or shortly after retirement because they worked to long. Don’t worry about money as for some reason it always works out (remember how that $150 a month car payment seemed daunting but after a couple of months was really nothing?)
As Auntie Mame said “Life is a banquet but some poor suckers are starving to death. LIVE!” Skip, dance, play and enjoy the sun

nytemuvr June 20, 2021 at 12:45 PM

@Well Folks…”to” X 4……

Silva June 23, 2021 at 2:18 PM

What a wonderful great cause!!

The Masked Poster June 19, 2021 at 7:53 PM

Has anyone seen our illustrious assemblyman, Timmy Grayson lately?

Exit 12A June 19, 2021 at 8:13 PM

“Juneteenth” is a farce.
But that’s my opinion which is guaranteed by the First Amendment of the US Constitution.
Your opinion vary and that’s okay by me.

Jeff (the other one) June 19, 2021 at 10:08 PM

@Exit 12A…I respect your opinion to all degrees. I do view it the opposite direction. I at first viewed as absurd and ridiculous, but eventually, I came to realize, only Americans, in the greatest, United States of America, could recognize that in this country, we recognize the liberty of all (at least we did, before the Marxist left gained momentum). Let us celebrate that this country, and the citizens of this country, had ended such a horrific behavior, that occurred globally. In spite of the narrative of the media, and the race baiters, this country is a beacon of liberty. They could come up with a more meaningful name than Juneteenth, shows lack of consideration.

nytemuvr June 19, 2021 at 11:54 PM

@Exit 12A….Seems like a lot of whoop-dee-do for 13% of the population.

remember June 20, 2021 at 6:22 AM

juneteenth is just an excuse for victim blacks to keep reminding bleeding hearts that they need reparations, i.e. more free money

Gittyup June 20, 2021 at 11:07 AM

There was no slavery. It was a barter arrangement. Blacks exchanged their labor for food, shelter and clothing, were allowed to marry and raise families, practice their religion, receive medical care, their children were educated. The federal government frowned on these informal employment arrangements and so deemed it slavery.

Cowellian June 20, 2021 at 12:38 PM

In a year full of stupid claims about elections and viruses, the claim that slavery didn’t exist may well be the most stupid statement made this year.

Ricardoh June 20, 2021 at 2:45 PM

I don’t think Juneteenth is a holiday that will bring the country together. Remembering the day if you want but it more of a remembrance of slavery then the ending of slavery. At this point from what I see going on in the country it will do nothing to make things better for those who need things to get better.

Gittyup June 20, 2021 at 3:53 PM

Thanks for your opinion, Cowellian. I guess that gives me license to state that I think you selfish hogging of the first comment slot is pretty stupid.

Addlepate June 20, 2021 at 7:35 PM

Gittyup, you are ignorant and a fool. I’ll assume you were drunk when you wrote that and don’t remember writing it. If you did it intentionally, re-read my first sentence.

Gittyup June 20, 2021 at 11:10 PM

Addlepate, I’m going to assume you saw “Roots,” too.

Gittyup June 21, 2021 at 7:59 PM

It is an alternative account of events which emphasizes personal responsibility rather than assigning blame.

Chicken Little June 20, 2021 at 8:42 AM

To be fair, the percentage of veterans is only about 7%, but I don’t hear anybody complaining about Veteran’s Day. I’m sure there are other examples.

Chicken Little June 20, 2021 at 10:51 AM

Oops, I meant to reply to the post above.

hanne jeppesen June 20, 2021 at 8:28 PM

Chicken Little, Thanks for pointing that out. Yes, being fair is good. Wish more people would put fairness about party or agenda. Left and right both.

!!!Possible POLICE Impersonator!!!

Hey all! I’m from Dana estates on sapling court late last night at 11:30pm I heard a clonk out my window (sounded too close to my car door handle)
Sure enough I peep outside someone with a flash light was peering into my car windows trying to open.
I ran downstairs to go to my car and confront the man, but he had walked off looking quite frantic and “on one” I might add. Not typical demeanor of an actual officer would be displaying.
He starts heading back towards my car to get a second look flash ligh off this time.. I scream excuse MEE! Startled him and goes on blubbering gibberish a actual police officer would! I don’t have my glasses tho so I didn’t see his badge clear enough but he showed me with his shaky hands on flashlight that he was in full uniform and literally said we’re “just doing our regular runs and sh!@!!! (I’ve never heard a police officer go about explaining this t on a woman who caught them trying to invade there property!!

Please has anybody noticed this man before? Plz comment any details you may have on the subject! Or am I just crazy! My gut tells me not so much!

Dr. Jellyfinger June 25, 2021 at 7:26 AM

The obvious course of action would have been to call the Clayton Police to verify.
They do have a non emergency number you can call.
Posting that story here is just an invitation for trolls to post stupid wisecrack answers to your question about whether or not you are crazy ( based on your belief that your internal organs actually talk ).

Kentucky Derby June 25, 2021 at 9:48 AM

If you’re concerned you should call the Concord police.

KAD June 25, 2021 at 1:44 PM
