On June 15, California is expected to reopen, and capacity and distancing restrictions will be lifted for most businesses and activities.
According to the California Department of Public Health’s (CDPH) Beyond the Blueprint public transit is no longer required to impose physical distancing requirements.
However, per the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) face masks will continue to be required for individuals across all transportation networks throughout the United States, including at airports, onboard commercial aircraft, on over-the-road buses, and on commuter bus and rail systems through at least September 13.
And again… disproportionate restrictions placed on low income families. Great job California!

The TSA is a FEDERAL (hint: their rules are above us) agency. The TSA says you must wear a mask. The state cannot (well at least should not) reduce those requirements. The state CAN make it more restrictive, but not less.
And finally how is this low income specific? I now many many people who make $150K+ a year that take public transit. Why- cause they do not want to drive the bridge, or sit in traffic. They use the time on Caltrans, BART, and other transit agencies to do more work (hence the $150K salary).
