A Concord man was arrested over the weekend in connection with a freeway shooting along Interstate Highway 680 in Fairfield, authorities said.
About 9:30 a.m. Saturday, a shooting was reported on the freeway south of Gold Hill Road, the California Highway Patrol said.
Officers found three bullet holes on the right side of the victims’ car, but no one inside had been hit by gunfire, the CHP said.
CHP detectives identified the suspect’s car and served a search warrant that resulted in the arrest of 47-year-old Daryl Thornton.
The CHP did not release information about a motive in the shooting.
Thornton was booked into the Solano County Jail on suspicion of attempted murder, shooting at an occupied vehicle and assault with a deadly weapon.

Ellis street was jam packed full of cops early this evening…This guy was probably who they were after
Stupid for life continues to be a big problem for us law abiding citizens.
On March 5th at 2:30pm driving northbound on 680 S. a young man shot at my husband & me. Luckily we were not hit…but I went into shock. Make a long story short, my BP was dangerously high for about a month. It took almost an hour for the CHP to come to take a report. We had more than half of the car license plate number and a full description of the car. Nope…nothing came of it…he pretty much brushed it off. So…I decided that I will never ever drive on any freeway ever again. No one seems to care anymore.
