CHP Investigating Man Riding In Backseat Of Tesla With No Driver

The California Highway Patrol is looking for a man who appears to have been riding alone in the backseat of his Tesla while the car drove itself around automatically on Bay Area roads.

On Saturday, the CHP posted two photos on its Facebook page that show the unidentified man in the back seat of the car and what looks like an empty driver’s seat.

“The CHP received a report of the incident as third-hand information, and it is under investigation,” CHP officials wrote in a post that accompanied the photos.

Someone should cut him off to see how good the collision avoidance software really is.

A fool and his Tesla are soon parted. Hopefully that will be before he hurts somebody else. How can such a dumb-donkey afford a Tesla?

In my interactions, I’ve found that there’s a lot of “dumb donkeys” in the supposed highly educated class.
Well they may know how to program a Super computer, they don’t know how to plant a stopped drain.

Unplug a clogged drain, is what I meant to say

Cops should put on their sirens and order the vehicle to pull over, and when it doesn’t open fire.

I’d like to know what likely charges might be.

I’d hope they’d at least involve taking the toy from this nutcase

I would think 23103(a) CVC – Reckless Driving would apply. ” A person who drives a vehicle upon a highway in willful or wanton disregard for the safety of persons or property is guilty of reckless driving.”

The “driving” element would have been completed as soon as he put the vehicle in gear and abandoned the driver’s position.

I witnessed a person driving a Tesla in the number 1 lane on 80. He was at the driver’s position but he was reading a newspaper which was completely obstructing his view.

A lot more faith in technology that I have. A perfect organ donor.

Some dudes in Texas were doing this and ended up in little itty bitty pieces. I hope this idiot doesn’t kill anyone.

Really don’t care about the fool who is in the car but sure worry about the innocents who could be maimed or killed by his lack of caring about his fellow man. He should be thrown in jail and never allowed to have a license again. Oh my, what was I thinking we live in California.

You would think if you could afford a Tesla you would have more brain power than that guy.

“. . . if you could afford a Tesla . . .”
His mommy bought it for him, along with the house he lives in, and his upcoming bail.
