The Concord Police Special Enforcement Team (SET) contacted a subject who was found to be in possession of a quantity of illegal street drugs on Friday night.

SET requested a police K9 to sniff the subject’s vehicle, and K9 Hancock alerted to the vehicle and while the officers searched the interior, they located a Ruger Mini 14 rifle which had the stock shortened, according to police.

The man was arrested for possession of narcotics for sale.

More probably an educated guess based on recent actions of Becton.

Another great job by the greatest K-9. And his two-legged helpers too.

LOL

The CPD is a great team of men and women working very hard to keep all of us safe.

The DA on the other hand…

Many thanks to the great people and dogs of the Concord Police Department.

Hopefully they will check that weapon to see if it was involved in any shootings. If things go right this guy should not see the sun for many of moons.

Arrested for having narcotics for sale? I hope he was also charged with weapons possession.

Crime in Oakland is so bad that they have added arson in the middle of the night to kill people. Guns were not good enough. Killed a father and young son yesterday. The old West had nothing on the New West.

I like how they display the cash like having 500 dollars is a significant amount of cash. Also the article says a “quantity” of illegal drugs. What exactly is a “quantity”? It don’t look like much, but I don’t really know. The government issued statements are getting vague nowadays. Also, we have the right to own firearms. The 2nd amendment is still the law of the land. What’s wrong with these people? Was the guy a wanted criminal? How did they have the right to search the car? The dog? We are still using trained animals to break the 4th amendment are we? Pitiful Americans some of you are.

In California it is a crime to posses a loaded firearm in a motor vehicle. The Supreme Court ruled that the police do not need a warrant to search a motor vehicle if a police officer has probable cause to believe there is evidence of a crime or contraband located in the vehicle. It is also a crime in California to posses a loaded firearm in a motor vehicle, and it is a crime to posses both, a loaded firearm and illegal drugs.

Oh I get it, however the article doesn’t say anything about this gun being loaded or functional. The drugs is a ticket.

My point is why are we submitting to this questionable violation of our rights. Multiple rights got stepped on because a dog alerted. It’s chicken sh*t police tactics unless the guy was a wanted criminal. Nowhere did it say it was loaded or he was a wanted man, and yes you are allowed to transport your firearm (unloaded). You made many assumptions in your head to justify an illegal search and seizure. On probation or a wanted criminal would be the only 2 reasons to have your 4th infringed like this. The article said neither. But you can be ok with it if you want Dawg

Good thing K9 Hancock is an honest dog!
It must have been tempting, all that cash would buy a load of toys and kibble.

Annalisa April 19, 2021 - 10:41 PM - 10:41 PM

What location?

Jane April 20, 2021 - 4:10 AM - 4:10 AM

How is it for sale if it’s not bagged up seperately looks like that is for personal use who knows maybe he had the gun cuz he didn’t want to get jacked from the person he bought it from and of course the scale cuz he didn’t want to get shorted.
