Coliseum Vaccinations Not Likely To Be Affected By Pause In Johnson & Johnson Vaccine

Officials in Alameda and Contra Costa counties said Tuesday that they do not anticipate canceling appointments at the Oakland Coliseum COVID-19 vaccination site amid the state’s pause in administering the Johnson & Johnson vaccine.

The two counties assumed operation of the Coliseum mass vaccination site Monday. The site has been jointly operated by the Federal Emergency Management Agency and the state’s Office of Emergency Services since it opened in mid-February.

The one-dose vaccine developed by Johnson & Johnson’s pharmaceutical subsidiary, Janssen, was administered at the Coliseum between April 1 and Sunday, according to the two counties.

More than 6.8 million doses of the vaccine have been administered across the country, as of Tuesday.

However, the federal Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the U.S. Food and Drug Administration announced Tuesday that six cases of rare and severe blood clots have been confirmed in women between the ages of 18 and 48 who received the J&J vaccine, with symptoms appearing between six and 13 days post-vaccination.

Both the CDC and the FDA advised states to pause using the J&J vaccine until public health officials could investigate the cause of the clots and whether they are even related to the vaccine.

For now, those being vaccinated at the Coliseum will receive doses of the two-shot vaccine developed by Pfizer, according to the two counties.

Despite the temporary loss of the J&J vaccine, the Coliseum is expected continue administering some 6,000 vaccine doses per day onsite as well as through mobile vaccination units in both counties.

People who have vaccination appointments at the Coliseum are advised to keep them, according to the two counties.

Vaccination appointments can be scheduled at the Coliseum via the state’s My Turn scheduling tool at https://myturn.ca.gov or by calling (833) 422-4255.

For patients who have already receive the J&J vaccine at the Coliseum site, local, state and federal public health officials have emphasized that the chance of an adverse reaction of any kind is extremely low.

Regardless, J&J vaccine recipients are advised to contact a doctor if they experience abnormal symptoms like severe headaches, abdominal or leg pain and shortness of breath within three weeks of receiving the vaccine.

Hey Mr Mayor,

How come you stopped posting the daily Covid reports?

The rates of blood clots are higher than this in the average unvaccinated population every year. According to Channel 2 this morning.
Maybe this “real” vaccine is helping prevent some?

You were convinced by the media that blood clots are a good thing?

The WORLDS largest PSY OP.
I guess it’s no surprise why Deagle.com forecasts the population in the United States at 20% by 2025.
