Who remembers the ice skating rink at the Sunvalley Mall?
It was where Round 1 is currently located, on the Contra Costa Blvd. side of the mall.
Here’s a video of the ice rink, filmed during a promo for the San Francisco Bay Area Curling Club.

I worked there as a skate guard until we closed for the final time
love it! I worked right next to it at Anna Millers pies! oh the good old days when the mall was fun!
When this was closing down many skaters were planning to protest the closure, but we were assured by the city officials not to worry the city was already making plans to place an ice arena somewhere else in the city,…………………….Still waiting. Another time we were lied to by our finest.
I loved this place as a kid! Second to Roller World of course…They had a song rotation of only like 8 songs, “Digital Display” by Ready for the World is one of them.
