There is a lot going on today that we are avoiding.
I have been to many beautiful places but could never pick a favorite. Maybe Zermatt and the Matterhorn but it is tied with many others. I have been getting pictures of castles in Europe on FB and I had no idea there were so many left in great condition built in places that would help protect them. It makes you wonder about the craftsmen that built them. About who were the architects of such amazing structures.

There are so many. The Columbia River Gorge and the Oregon coast is beautiful. Yosemite, the Sierra Mountains, the Mojave Desert, Death Valley, the California redwoods, and Big Sur all have a natural beauty. San Francisco was beautiful 35 years ago, and one of my favorites is the beautiful state of Wyoming, especially around the Grand Tetons and Snake River.

Boracay in the Philippines, beautiful white sands and at dawn the sky is iridescent. Chapel of Mary @ the Grotto in Portland OR. I spend 4 hours (walking, meditating, and soul searching). The gardens and the meditation chapel is absolutely a place to run away to. Niagara Falls (Canadian side) is always a sight to see. It is breathtaking and magnificent. These are the 3 of my favorite places that I have been to. The most beautiful place I”ve ever visited was 30.000 feet in the air in 1980 coming home from England to Calif and seeing the light/dark horizontal divider between 2 hemispheres.I thought it would be vertical.
Something you rarely ever see in your life.
Amazing and unforgettable, esp, being 15 years old.
Of all time? Grindelwald in Switzerland in July or August. The meadowlands were waist high with wildflowers and the Eiger was towering above us. Most recently? Restaurants where we have been able to dine indoors. Not looking forward to returning to the state of Ashland and Newsom the Hypocrite.

That is a tough one. I always say you can’t compare nature. My native Denmark is mostly flat or have rolling small hills, yet we have beautiful places, the forest in spring, when everything is covered with snow, beautiful castles.
I’m sure each country has beautiful places. Here are some I have visited that stands out, Switzerland. Northern Italy (Lake Como and Lugano), Iceland and Israel. Particular places in Israel Ein Gedi overlooking the Dead Sea, the ancient town of Acre on the Mediterranean, close to Lebanon, Safad overlooking lake Tiberius, and also the town of Haifa. Beautiful cities: Munich, Salzburg, Luxemburg, Vancouver, Edinburgh, Athens, Seattle and of course San Francisco. Places in California too numerous to mention, the Coast line, the Wine Country, the Gold Country, Tahoe and my all time favorite Yosemite, where I have hiked many times.
I love the beautiful gardens of Denmark, and the castle in Copenhagen (Rosenborg). They have incredible fine China, goblets, glass trophies, and all the other precious, delicate chess sets, etc that survived many centuries, since Denmark hasn’t been invaded by any enemies.

Lake Louise in Canada, 1981.
Visited with the family. They were inside the hotel, I was bored. Went out to the lake to skip rocks and kill time.
The lake was like glass, mirroring the surrounding mountains. The sun was beginning to set and dusk was approaching. There was no sound and no wind, and I was the only one there and it was breath taking.
Then to top it all off, a bagpiper showed up and serenaded me and the lake with “Amazing Grace”.
I still get goosebumps whenever I recall that day.
