Although Gavin would not provide numbers (what else is new?), even he acknowledged that many health care workers are refusing to take this vaccine.

As an ER nurse, I can’t WAIT to get the vaccine. None of you anti-maskers see the death and devastation that we witness on a daily basis. Just got off shift where I had two people die in the ER from Covid, and those were just my patients. There are thirty other nurses on shift at any given time, all watching patients suffocate to death on their own secretions. I encourage any of you who don’t believe in Covid to spend a day shadowing a nurse. Bet you won’t.
Thank you for everything you do and for sharing your experience during this time. I hope that those who need to hear it most heed your words. I hope that you are able to receive your vaccine soon.

To become a dentist you need a Bachelor’s degree (not necessarily in a science related field) and then you go to Dental school. Medical school is not involved in the process.

I think there is a misunderstanding among some about the knowledge needed to give shots. You do not need to go to medical anything to do that, and I used to give someone shots with a prescription. It was a while ago but I think the doctor gave me about one minute of instructions.

My wife and I certainly want to get vaccinated! The County is now taking vaccination appointments for everyone in all tiers of Phase 1. We’re well down the priority list from that group, but are hoping to get vaccinated by March.

Kaiser, Sutter, John Muir physicians will all have the opportunity to get the vaccines to their patients. However, currently there is not enough vaccine for the entire population who wishes to get the vaccine, so it’s being prioritized by need: front line medical workers, then at risk patients in long term care facilities are in the first phase.
Once the vaccine is readily available, I would imagine there will be many people wanting the vaccine immediately. Probably why dentists are being trained in giving the vaccine,

Why the hell are medical professionals wearing simple surgical masks in that video? Their job is to be in constant, tight proximity with dozens or hundreds of strangers a day, and they’re wearing basically worthless masks to protect themselves.
KN95s are a dollar apiece. Many have emergency FDA approval such as Powecom. They are rated over 95 percent.
Korean KP94s are roughly $2.50 apiece and are rated over 94 percent. Both are readily available.
It’s inexcusable for anyone to be wearing anything than a respirator at this point in the pandemic, but for it’s pathetic for a medical professional not to be wearing one.

So the vaccine doesn’t stop you from getting it or spreading it and they aren’t absolutely sure it will stop the new strains, it has already killed a doctor in Florida. Also if the vaccine did kill someone, most won’t get reported and they will say he or she died from covid. I’ve talked to doctors and nurses that are on both sides of the fence, but if you want to take it, you should, good luck. Most of us will take the 99% survival rate.
