Here’s why:

This is the kind of rumors that start shortages. Now everyone will start hoarding.Just like toilet paper.I guess soda and toilet paper are connected to the rectum in order for it to function. One good thing my soda cans are going to make me rich 😂 lmao.

Rumor | Definition of Rumor by Merriam-Websterwww.merriam-webster.com › dictionary › rumor

So guess what old Timer, you are the one starting rumors.

Every grocery store I’ve been to doesn’t have my favorite flavor of soda except WinCo, and someday they may run out too. They should switch back to glass bottles.

If they start to pay a premium to recycle them I have several huge trash bags full of fully crushed cans I need to recycle in my garage…..

PESFG January 5, 2021 - 7:13 PM - 7:13 PM

I would be happy to take those cans away from you so you can have more space in your garage.

Oh, please January 5, 2021 - 7:17 PM - 7:17 PM

I wish… they always find some way to underpay and short us.

Dawg January 5, 2021 - 10:14 PM - 10:14 PM

The recycling centers usually pay the market price for aluminum. You can always look up the price on Google, today it’s 34 cents a pound for aluminum cans.

Mika January 5, 2021 - 5:05 PM - 5:05 PM

Reopen the recycling centers!

Bobfished January 5, 2021 - 5:13 PM - 5:13 PM

I will try and drink faster!

JazzMan January 5, 2021 - 5:53 PM - 5:53 PM

That brings up another problem. People have lots of cans, but nowhere to take them, so aluminum cans are inadvertently being stockpiled.

Shoulda Coulda January 5, 2021 - 7:52 PM - 7:52 PM

JazzMan-

Here are a few local recycling businesses-

Concord Recycling Center. 1320 Galaxy Way.

Sun’s Recycling Center. 124 Medburn St. Concord.

Recycle It. 3300 Pacheco Blvd. Martinez.

It speeds the process if you separate your cans,
plastic bottles (take the tops off but recycle tops
with the bottles) and glass (Separate glass
according to its color).

Hope this helps!

This has actually been going on since July. Major soda companies stopped making all their “Flavors” of soda and just kept producing the 4-5 major best sellers

For those who have the time and cans, consider building a soda can solar heater. Would be great fun for the kids and a nice bonding experience of a shared project. Design, list of materials, drawing plans, SAFETY considerations to keep everyone safe, then the experience of building and testing results of your efforts.

This guy uses a drill press with belts not tight and holds cans, a universally BAD idea. I use a step bit some times called a cobra bit and put three holes in bottom of can and two in tops. Can get a set of three for about ten bucks at harbor freight.

I think beverage companies are cutting on selling certain flavors due to what people are drinking now having to be at home as opposed to buy what is available at restaurants, gas stations and other places. About a couple of months ago, I went looking for “Orangina” (glass bottle) and it seems stores have stopped carrying it.

We never should have sent our recycling to China. We need to bring back the factory jobs and make the cans in America using our recycled materials.
