Imagine if we had all of our ICU beds that were available and UNUSED in the summer counted in this statistic. We were listing over 200 ICU beds. Today, we have 169 beds which is even less than yesterdays at 177. It is sad that we are being judged on a metric that we cannot control. We are being judged on a metric that is purely FINANCIALLY driven. If we had the 200 beds from summer, before the county did the new age math on the equation, we would have 29% capacity in ICU.

Case Mortality rate is 0.81% now.
Positivity rate from March to today is 5.0%. 42,632 cases divided by 845,044 tests administered.

Why are we locked down again … o Yeah, Newsom and his cronies in the Health Department.

1 thing you are forgetting. The reason why it’s down is because the lock down at the time. Look what happen when the lock down was lifted. Cases shot up. Deaths triple. So don’t say if we had those beds because if that lock down at that time never happen. Those beds would have been filled at over flowed. With all the ANTI MASKERS. This will not be over with for some time.

Can we expand the data that are provided (and report, for tracking)? I can look later, but I am curious, how many long term care facilities/nursing homes are there in CCC, and how many residents? How many LTCFs have infections (is there 90% of deaths in 10% of nursing homes?)?

Other info I am interested in: Number of unique tests, number hospitalized strictly for corona as opposed to hospitalized for other cause but happen to have the virus.

Also, how many individuals have been vaccinated? Are those data available, as it would be interesting to see how efficient that process is.

this should inflame some but aren’t icu’s busy around this time due to cold and flu season?

sorry if someone has already posted this 🙂

This is going the wrong way.

Anyone know IF Contra Costa County Health Department has a plan is to turn this around?

The Number of Available Beds fluctuates daily as hospitals try to accommodate more Covid patients. The hospital I work at has been restructuring units to this end. On Monday there may have been 19 beds on a unit that normally holds 28, but due to Covid patients are being moved around from single to double occupancy rooms, rearranging hallways of rooms in order to keep all the Covid case rooms in a finite space to allow for quicker response times for care. Covid is REAL, and Covid is easily transmittable, and Covid KILLS! Please wash your hands frequently, wear a mask, and stay socially distant!!
