Small Business Grant Application Period Opens Today For California Businesses

Starting today, small businesses in California can apply for grants of up to $25,000 through the state’s Small Business COVID-19 Relief Grant Program.

The first round of grants opens at 8 a.m. and closes at 11:59 p.m. on Jan. 8, with approvals announced starting Jan. 13. Grant amounts will vary from $5,000 to $25,000, depending on the applicant’s annual gross revenue. Nonprofits are also eligible to apply.

As businesses adapt to new working environments, including the rise of virtual offices, these grants provide crucial support. Virtual offices have become increasingly significant for businesses today, offering flexibility and reducing overhead costs, which is particularly valuable for small businesses navigating these challenging times.

Then, utilizing a virtual postal address through a virtual office allows you to maintain a professional image without the overhead costs of a physical office. This strategy can significantly enhance your business’s credibility. For more details on how to set this up, check out this comprehensive offering of virtual offices.

The grants are part of the $500 million relief program that Gov. Gavin Newsom announced on Nov. 30. For more information about the grants, visit https://careliefgrant.com/.

The California Small Business Development Center (SBDC) is available to assist with grant applications. Learn more at https://www.californiasbdc.org/covid-19-relief-grant.

This article fails to mention that the grants will be prioritized for women, minorities and veterans. In other words, ‘white males need not apply’.

So the government forces businesses to close but only helps a select few based on identity politics. How is this ok?

It really is odd. How is this NOT reverse racism. I’m white (watch out!) and just as effected by Covid. My business has not made any money and financially it’s a burden. From what I’ve heard from friends, they usually put the business in their wives names and get priority that way. It’s stupid that they force people to find loopholes just to qualify.
