Bay Area’s Stay-At-Home Order Likely To Be Extended, State Officials Say

Stay-at-home orders currently in effect in the Bay Area and three other California regions likely will remain in place past the minimum three-week duration, state officials affirmed Friday.

The state’s stay-at-home order is triggered when a region’s average intensive care unit capacity falls below 15 percent. The Bay Area, greater Sacramento, the San Joaquin Valley and Southern California are under the order at present, the California Department of Public Health said.

The earliest date the Bay Area may become eligible to exit the order is Jan. 8, the state department said. Greater Sacramento could become eligible to exit the order as early as Jan. 1, while San Joaquin and Southern California could possibly become eligible this coming Monday, Dec. 28.

The available ICU capacity in the latter two regions is down to a grim 0 percent, according to the department. In the Bay Area, ICU capacity is at 9.8 percent, and in greater Sacramento, ICU capacity is 16.7 percent, the department said.

The state department’s prediction was in line with a Monday announcement from Gov. Gavin Newsom. The governor said at that time that skyrocketing COVID-19 cases and hospitalizations would probably keep the stay-at-home orders in effect for multiple regions across the state.

The health department Friday said California has 2,042,290 confirmed cases to date, though numbers may not represent true day-over-day change as reporting of test results can be delayed. There were 39,144 newly recorded confirmed cases Thursday and the 7-day positivity rate is 11.9 percent, while the 14-day positivity rate is 12.4 percent, the department said.

Judging by the traffic no one cares.

Russ Sayin December 26, 2020 - 10:26 AM - 10:26 AM

The people who received the first round of injections (like myself) should be getting the next dose in about 10-days or so. I’d like to be optimistic and think that this will somehow be the start of a battle against these horrific numbers.

Lol. I like your spirit, but I don’t think so. This is not about the illness. It is about power and control.

How’d you get one so quickly? My mother lives in a LTC Facility and hasn’t received one yet.

“Horrific numbers?”

Had a Dr. tell me day before yesterday that he would take the vaccine when pigs fly.

I agree.

CDC’s survival rate by age

0-19 99.997%
20-49 99.98%
50-69 99.5%
70 + 94.6%

300,000 deaths divided by 360,000,000 us population = .00083333 % died

Bay Area’s stay at home order is unconstitutional and illegal. Those enforcing it are traitors to the Republic and The People.

@Googlar is completely correct.

Original G December 26, 2020 - 10:47 AM - 10:47 AM

Unfortunate those running this state have not ensured an adequate ongoing supply of N95 masks for all Californians.

Governor Schwarzenegger set up mobile hospitals program along with stockpiling of 50 million N95 masks, 2,400 portable ventilators, three complete portable hospitals that could be onsite in 24 hours, along with 21,000 additional patient beds in ready to set up kit form.

Both those masks an portable hospitals with their ICU’s and ventilators would come in handy today. . . . . moonbeam and DEMs didn’t want to spend the money to warehouse those hospitals and stockpiles and did away with them.

N95 masks stop 95% of virus particles, cloth masks are FAR less effective.
Is very unfortunate those in charge are failing so miserably when it comes to educating public on limitations of cloth masks.

What newsom has tried isn’t reducing infection rate,

Googlar December 26, 2020 - 12:50 PM - 12:50 PM

Cloth masks are not effective at all and serve zero purpose other than turning free men into obedient golems.

Cloth masks keep the Karens away.

Instagram will be used for mask compliance. Accessing your camera to check if you’re wearing a mask, you’ll get a notification if you’re detected as having a naked face. That and much more work in the new ‘terms of service ‘

Captain Bebops December 26, 2020 - 12:14 PM - 12:14 PM

And if you don’t have the Instagram app?

BTW, I rewatched the 2019 movie “Captive State” which turns out to be a pretty good example of life under “Covidism”. It’s about an alien invasion of the planet which makes humans subservient. The movie was influenced by a couple of movies about WWII Resistence fighters “Army of Shadows” and “Battle of Algiers”. If you have Showtime, “Captive State” is available there and for rent elsewhere.

So does this ‘stay-at-home’ order really exist if I am not in California to experience it?

Does it apply equally to politicians and the elite, or just to people with something to lose?

What stay at home order?
We aren’t even aware there is one by the looks of all the traffic on the roads the people in the shopping centers and stores and out and about.
There is no stay at home order!

Bill Barnes December 26, 2020 - 1:08 PM - 1:08 PM

Follow the science (fiction)…please remember, if this were real we would not need any of these enforcement infringements – Think Ebola.

It’s currently an upside-down world full of nonsequiturs; suddenly, the agitators of government are now in full support of not just ordinary governmental controls, but totalitarian extremism, think about that for a minute. All the customary and traditional civil rights (free speech, equal protection, etc.) typically guarded and jellously protected by the ACLU’s (and media writ large) of the world are suspiciously silent today about these massive infringements.

Just one example in today’s upside-down world, let that sink in.

Yeah, you should be worried, very worried, but not because of the “new” flu it’s the same as the old flu. It’s the “new” lack of civil rights protection from our traditional NGO’s (non-governmental organizations).

What’s changed?

Science = knowledge SCIENCE? LOL You mean the same “science” that predicted that the United States would be covered in Ice in the year 2000, and this was predicted back in the 70’s. As a teen I became scared of my future knowing the Earth was ending. Now cupcakes, we are very soon entering 2021 and not 1 dam ice is covering the US except snow in some states. The only ice I found is in my freezer. Sounding very paranoid there cupcakes, don’t be. We all deal with issues differently. I suggest you lock yourself in the basement & don’t come out and let the rest of us live our lives.

Original G December 26, 2020 - 1:45 PM - 1:45 PM

Is unfortunate so many blindly accept info from those “in charge” and don’t bother to do their own research.

“… coronavirus is about 0.12 microns in diameter and N95 (masks) protect down to 0.1 microns, with 95% efficiency, …”

Most articles out there talk in terms of “percent”, while neglecting to mention particle size cloth masks are capable of stopping.
A false sense of security . . . .

‘Cloth masks are NOT enough to stop the spread of Covid-19 without social distancing

https://www.dailymail.co.uk/health/article-9080597/Cloth-masks-NOT-stop-spread-COVID-19-without-social-distancing.html

WHY aren’t their enough N95 masks for all CA residents ?

Then there’s what Texas and Florida are doing,
along with the Doctor’s letter. Consequences and community’s reaction.

Please, don’t take my word for it do your own research.

Security “in charge” at the World Trade Center on 9/11 did loud speaker announcements that for employees the safest place is to stay in the building, do not evacuate, go back to your desks. Security knew nothing except that they were supposed to be “in charge.” Beware of those “in charge.”

The great reset includes wiping out half of the population with a mystery illness, but everyone sick had one thing in common.Vaccinated

300.000 people die every year in the USA from the flu, always have, always will.
Horrific numbers?
There is a TB pandemic theyve been hiding from you for years, otherwise,in their thinking, the entire planet should be on lockdown,24/7 till the end of time.
Millions die every year, and nobody notices, its not in your face,so nobody cares. They dont want you to.

California has been under lock down for weeks now, but the virus cases are surging. We are told that the virus symptoms show up 4 – 7 days from (infected) person to person contact. Can anyone explain this? Shouldn’t the number of cases be going down?

Either the lock down isn’t working, or no one is adhering to the rules of the lock down. I suspect it is the former…

Time to open up our economy.

Pepe December 27, 2020 - 8:19 AM - 8:19 AM

Mabey it’s time for freedom loving Americans’ to take to the streets and protest . We can march down the streets and instead of looting and burning shops and restaurants we help them put their tables and awnings out . Help them open and stay open by supporting them by protesting in front of their business when the government trolls try to shut them down or fine them . This is America , land of the free and it’s time we take it back .
