BART Releases 2020 Christmas Week And New Year’s Schedule

BART released its 2020 holiday schedule.

This year, Christmas Eve will be a regular Thursday schedule while Christmas Day will be a Holiday/Sunday schedule with service beginning at 8 a.m. There will be no other service adjustments Christmas week.

New Year’s Eve will also be a regular Thursday schedule and BART will not offer extended hours. San Francisco has cancelled the fireworks show. New Year’s Day will be a Holiday/Sunday schedule with service beginning at 8 a.m.

Parking will be free at all stations except for Milpitas and Berryessa/North San Jose on Christmas and New Year’s Day. All other parking rules will be enforced.

I think it’s a failing of a taxpayer funded system to not be open late on New Years. People need to travel, this is what they pay money to the government for. How big of a whoop is it to let the trains run till 2AM on the one

If this was really about covid then the government would be cracking down on nearly useless cotton masks while distributing respirators. You can now buy 95+ rated respirators that have been tested and approved by emergency use by US government agencies for around or under $1 a unit, Powecom KN95 is an example.

Also supposedly the BART trains replace the air every two or three minutes or some such, and is filtered, so it’s hypothetically safer than most indoor spaces, or so they themselves claim.

Quite possibly the worst-run, most filthy, lawless transportation agency in the world.
