Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) Northern California is hosting a First Responder Trick Shot Challenge fundraiser as a part of celebrating “Tie One On for Safety,” their National campaign to encourage people to designate a driver and plan ahead to prevent the many deaths caused by impaired driving during the holiday season.
At least 50 people died in crashes throughout Calfornia during the Thanksgiving Maximum Enforcement Period. In addition, CHP officers made 868 arrests for DUI during the 102-hour holiday traffic safety effort, which began at 6:01 p.m. on Wednesday Nov.25 and ended at 11:59 p.m. on Sunday Nov.29.
