The East Bay SPCA and two other Northern California animal shelters last week partnered to transfer 80 dogs from a shelter in Oklahoma to alleviate overcrowding there.
The transfer took place last Thursday involving the East Bay SPCA, Sacramento SPCA and a third shelter, all taking dogs from the Humane Society of Tulsa, which takes animals from overcrowded municipal shelters around Tulsa, SPCA officials said.
Both the East Bay SPCA and Sacramento SPCA each took in more than 20 dogs. All animals will receive a medical and behavioral evaluation before becoming available for adoption.

What wonderful news!
That is great! Please people adopt don’t shop!
For the past 20 years we’ve had pugs; both blonde and black. Before that we adopted a black lab puppy from ARF which at 2 years old bit a neighbor jogging in the calf, tearing it from the bone. We almost lost our home due to this, but because we put him down they o my sued us for the medical bills.
HOWEVER, when it comes time that we get another dog, it’s going to be another adoption!!! It’s a no brained; I’d like to get an older small dog who would be loved and taken care of for its remaining life.
It’s not fair for an animal to suffer just because their owner abandoned them or has passed away….
Im not opposed to those who want a pure breed, but this guardian of cats and dogs will definitely be adopting once again!!!
Take care of these beautiful animals coming from Oklahoma
…and Welcome to California! ت
