Contra Costa County COVID-19 data as of Wednesday Dec.2, 2020:

  • Total cases (since March) – 25,264
  • Total active confirmed cases – 2,792
  • Recovered cases – 22,211
  • Total tested – 625,771
  • Deaths – 261, last death was on Nov.16 – (nobody under 30 years old) (133 deaths in nursing homes)

Contra Costa County COVID-19 Hospital Data:

  • COVID-19 patients currently hospitalized – 112 (25 in the ICU)
  • Available ICU beds – 41
  • Available ventilators – 200

  • Total active confirmed cases – 2,719
  • Recovered cases – 21,934
  • Total tested – 621,876
  • Deaths – 261, last death was on Nov.16 – (nobody under 30 years old) (133 deaths in nursing homes)

The number in the hospital is now slightly above July’s peak. I have updated the chart at https://imgur.com/a/Tz5FnIq

There have been fewer deaths than what we saw in July but it’s possible they have not been added to the county records yet.. CC county has been adding deaths to their tables about 13 days after the reported date of a death. It’s not a consistent delay as it’s been as few as 4 days to as many as 21 days from the reported date of a death to when it’s added to the county charts.

I figured out a way to get the deaths on the chart at https://imgur.com/a/Tz5FnIq I’m showing the rolling sum of the number of deaths for the last 14 days. You can see the surge in April when the Long Term Healthcare Facilities were getting hit.
