A 28-year-old Clayton man died in a solo-vehicle crash Wednesday morning in Dixon, California Highway Patrol officials said.
The crash occurred at 6:30 a.m. on eastbound Interstate 80 just west of Pedrick Road.
The driver of a Toyota 4Runner apparently let the SUV drift into the center median where it hit a guard rail, CHP officials said.
The SUV then went across all eastbound lanes and onto the dirt shoulder where it rolled over several times.
The driver was ejected from the SUV and pronounced dead at the scene. The CHP located a small dog at the crash site. The dog appeared to be uninjured and was given to animal services in Solano County.
The name of the victim has not been released.

Very sad. Condolences to this man’s family and friends. I hope next of kin came claim his dog.
Don’t drink and drive, and don’t forget to wear your seatbelt, folks.
You don’t know it’s was DUI. Could’ve been a medical issue, or he was exhausted and fell asleep at the wheel.
This is such a devastating loss. He will be greatly missed and honored. He leaves behind many loved ones. Such an amazing soul, full of smiles, laughs and so many memories.
RIP dear loved one. Such devastating news. My thoughts are with all who knew and loved him.

God Bless him and his family and friends. So very heart wrenching.
