Martinez police are investigating the death of a man whose body was found in Alhambra Creek on Monday morning.

At about 10:30 a.m., officers were called to an area of the creek behind the 900 block of Ferry Street in downtown Martinez after someone reported seeing the man’s body, which had some visible injuries, according to police officials.

Police described the man as white and in his 50s, and said they are withholding his name pending notification of his family.

Anyone with information is asked to call the police non-emergency number at (925) 372-3440

Ewww… a “floater”.

First responders don’t like floaters. They fall apart and end up a puddle of guts.

@exit 12A. either you are in it for the shock value haven’t grown up yet.

Your response does not make sense. With that said, based on your response,”maybe you haven’t grown up.”

@Raiderette
Some people are just sicko idiots and don’t have any compassion or morals whatsoever!

Poor fellow – be kind, people, we don’t know his story.

Exactly…people are not so kind anymore.

It’s easy sitting in our warm, dry homes to judge those living outside in parks, along creeks, and broken down cars.
But there, for the love of gawd, could be anyone of us.
Have you never been afraid, alone, weak, or ill?
With temps dropping & rain coming, maybe we can spare just a little kindness these holidays to those suffering around us.
RIP to this poor individual.

Thank you. I often think about this and every night, when I get into our warm bed, I express gratitude. With further COVID restrictions, my husband is out of work and receiving a pittance via unemployment. I have a good job and can work from home, but without that, we’d go through our savings fast. Our home is something I never take for granted. Who knows what happened to this man, or if drugs were involved. Ending up dead in a cold stream is just tragic.

Has a former paramedic, I can tell you that most of these cases generally involved some sort of foul play. I would assume normally the drug trade is involved in many of these. It’s a dangerous business to be in. The results are usually not pretty.

@Raiderette, please look up the definition of shock value.

Exit12A – Likes to make graphic comments to gross people out.
Concord Grape – Criticizes comment that is gross / immature (forgets “or”)
Raiderette – Does not understand… comments anyway.
Ancient Mariner – Politely says you people show no class or respect.
Dr. Jellyfinger – Suggests story about a dead guy should not be turned into a pissing match between posters 1,2 & 3 & their comments should be deleted…. & mine too.

.
I have had to scrape up several people after they’ve been digested by a jet engine.
.
It is part of my reality.
.
Meanwhile, you sat there in your warm home isolated from grim realities.
.

Actually I’ve been on scene of two separate drowning recoveries (both were weeks in the water) and saw two people killed crossing a highway (one was actually cut in half, but I will spare you the details of these incidents as graphic descriptions are disturbing and unnecessary and I’m not an a&&hole).

Lmao
