Elections officials say so far, so good at the polls Tuesday, as Election Day 2020 has launched smoothly in the Bay Area’s nine counties.
By 11 a.m., counties reported few lines and no real problems at polling places.
“(It’s been) a steady stream of voters,” said Scott Konopasek, the assistant registrar of voters in Contra Costa County. “Only 10,000 voted so far.”
Contra Costa County received more than 420,000 early ballots, as of Monday.
Turnout for in-person voting is down, thanks to the massive push for early and mail-in voting due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The night before Election Day, more than 2.7 million Bay Area voters had already cast ballots.
Statewide, more than 11.2 million of California’s more than 21 million registered voters already voted.
Nationwide, the number was approaching 100 million by Monday evening – almost 70% of the 136.5 million people who voted in 2016.

Assuming a Biden win tonight. I assume we will all be going back to school next week as Brian Lawrence will loosen the reigns on kids returning given his defeat of the hated republicans.
I say it because it actually happens. We had 3 districts in 2016 where they kept “finding votes” until a Democrat won in a Republican district. And then we’ve had HOW MANY postal worker discard ballots, often from military personnel (more likely to go Republican).
But hey, it’s not like I will riot if My candidate loses. I’ll leave that to the Liberals.

I feel bad for the Military Members serving overseas who mailed in their ballots in time – but if they are delayed Trump does not want them counted.

Are you watching Nevada flip right now? Rob has been bringing the military into the conversation for a couple days now, it’s just disrespectful. California is turning red 100% only a couple hours left and you will know that too. You can support Rob if you like I just think if he wants to make the argument he should do it respectfully. A little strange this year that you vote by touch screen on a monitor then print it out with your choices clearly visible then drop it In a box. 🤔
That’s not how we voted. We filled in the bubble on the sheet just like we always have. There really should be a universal system for voting. People should have to show ID and voting absentee should be done via the computer and you should be required to use your social security number to do it. I’m tired of all this election fraud.

Things did not go quite so smoothly at the polls at Concord High School – their machine was busted, something about it not being charged?? Would have preferred to cast our ballot at our local polling place, but, the line was only getting longer, nobody was going in, it was getting hot.. good thing I had my mail ballot filled out and ready to drop in the box – just hope it’s gets counted today!
We voted at Concord High today . The Machine went down when we were there so they just stuffed the ballots in a clear plastic bag . Who knows if our votes will be counted . I called the county election office and they said they will file a report . Who knows
What’s running smoothly is the ad hoc Trump Rally on the overpass on 24. They’ve been there all week. Started mainly with honks only from tractor trailers. Then more cars as the week went on. Today it has basically been constant honking for them since about 9am. Not that I think California is going red, but for this to be happening here…

I voted in-person at 2PM and had no waiting. I walked right up, gave my name, was given my ballot, walked to the polling booth, filled out my votes, fed my ballot into the machine & walked out.
I will follow up on Contra Costa Elections website to verify that my ballot was actually counted.
