CASES BY CITY:
The population of Contra Costa County is about 1.1-million.
Joe Biden had an interview on CNN and said president Trump was responsible for every virus death in the US and they all could have been prevented.
Pretty much what Joe is saying is that if he had been president no one in the US would have died of the virus. That is like a mouse floating down the river on his back with an erection yelling, “raise the drawbridge”.
Not only creative, extremely accurate.
Trump already responded to that one with that people will vote for him regardless of how many people he kills. The people who died were suckers and losers.
Hahahaha!! Good one!
Joe Biden is a blowhard, but Trump has not exactly shone during the pandemic. He constantly flunks Crisis Messaging 101. He undermines the CDC instead of just acknowledging their recommendations and making the case for any differences in policy he has with them. He was a big zero when it comes to having a competent rollout of testing. But initially that was the Cdc’s fault, and there’s no way a Pres. Biden would have done any differently during that phase. And that was really the biggest failure: we failed to avoid the disastrous spike in NYC etc. during March and April. With competent rollout of testing we could have. Since then Trump’s messaging has been crud but I don’t think the substance of the federal response would have been that different under a typical Pres.
HA! and his followers are the same mentality.Always playing the blame game, and not being self aware sorry for being too honest.
“Yawn”…..Everything is Trump’s fault….
I’m getting tired of tripping over all the DEAD BODIES in the street.
198,469 people have died in the US from COVID. We are #1 in cases and deaths in the world because the idiot downplayed the virus…
@ DLo
The US is not even in the top ten in deaths per capita (its 11th), and has one of the better case fatality rates, just glancing at Wikipedia. We also test at higher rates than any other country. Looking at death rates, we are way below the rates of March and April, despite far more diagnosed cases. Some of that is better treatment, but I’d wager most of it is we are catching far more cases than we were then, which means the uptick in cases is mostly an illusion. Its been steady, we just tested and discovered more of them.
One thing I notice looking at these numbers is, mortality rates don’t seem to coincide much, if at all, with lockdown policies and mask mandates. Even Hawaii is getting it now, and they had the most draconian lockdown policy in the nation, along with the advantage of being an island. New Zealand might be one of the few places it worked, and even then it will only be worth it if a vaccine really does come along and get them immunity, otherwise they will always have a vulnerable population just waiting to get infected.
Orangeman said stupid stuff, but his policy was mostly Ok, and I highly doubt any other politician would have done significantly better.
@Dlo,
Trump deserves some of the blame, for sure. He politicizes stuff that should be neutral. And even when he is right he is all over the place with his message. To say nothing of any actual executive managerial ability…
But the decision to implement restrictions happens at the state level. Cuomo and DiBlasio sat on their hands as the evidence built up that community spread was happening in NYC. By the time they reacted it was too late. If you took out the tri-state area the US’s deaths per capita would not look so bad at all compared to other developed nations. We haven’t suppressed it down to near zero. But that was never going to happen. Trump gets a D- on Covid in my book. But I think most of what has happened has not really been about him and his special badness.
The Harris/Biden ticket focus on Covid because it’s all they can discuss. If they were to elaborate on their actual goals, they would alienate their base and have no chance of being elected.
They are, to use a technical term, a popcorn fart.
We have two crises going on right now: the covid pandemic and the economic collapse. Imagine if the pandemic were as big as the economic collapse what the death count would be. Which is the bigger gorilla in the room?
Walnut Creek resident must be listening to MSNBC the smart people will be voting in person for Donald Trump I don’t hear any of you lefties complaining about China why is that I blame China I do not blame Donald Trump I think he’s done an excellent job
