Officials Predict Good Air Quality Through Friday

The Bay Area Air Quality Management District on Thursday issued an air quality advisory for the region, predicting mostly healthy air through Friday but some areas may have residual smoke.

Onshore winds on Wednesday helped push smoky air from wildfires burning throughout the state out of the Bay, BAAQMD officials said.

However, residual smoke is still lingering and may cause smoky, hazy skies.

If residents smell smoke, they’re advised to stay indoors and close all doors and windows, and if possible, to set air conditioning units to re-circulate in order to prevent outside air from coming inside.

People who suffer from asthma, emphysema, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease or any other respiratory illness are most vulnerable to poor air, as are children and the elderly.

Although no Spare the Air Alert is in effect to ban wood burning in the Bay Area, BAAQMD officials said they will continue to closely monitor the region’s air quality for smoke from the fires.

Time to fire up the grill before the summer is out ?

Oh. Please….

Q-ing & Grilling are year-round / rain or shine activities.

Absolutely! And enjoy it!

Where does the BAAQMD think indoor
air comes from that makes it safer to
breathe. It smells like smoke in the house.
By their reasoning would it be even safer
in a closet?

If you have central air conditioning, I would recommend changing your filters to ones rated for smoke/allergens. Most cheap filters don’t, so look for that rating and it should help. For the most part, window a/c units just circulate the air in the room, so it shouldn’t bring in much smell if any.

I’m sick and tired of “officials” proclaiming this and that and the other.

It doesn’t matter if they’re right or wrong.

There’s just too much government invading every facet of daily life.

Government at every level could cut 75% of the bureaucracy and we the people would be much better off with fewer taxes and less oversight.

Keep the government simple.

They are simple. We need them to be less voluminous.

Vote Republican, I also chose liberty.

I’m sick and tired of selfish people polluting the air on the few good days we’ve had. How can you even stand the smell of smoke after all we’ve been through? It’s ridiculous. Like you all have oppositional defiant disorder and you need to light a fire just because someone told you not to. Poor air quality is bad for you too.

Man has cooked on fire since the beginning of time. Are you really this brainwashed to believe using an outdoor grill is bad for the air? Your mental illness is not my problem. Remember the air has COVID floating in it. Better stay inside and keep that gag order strapped to your face

Thank you BUCK and Sam yes it is not a good idea to f up the air at this time. OBVIOUSLY

Big beautiful blue sky’s. Gentle breezes with perfect temperatures. What the hell are you talking about? It’s a great time to remove your mask, take a deep breath of fresh oxygen enriched air and throw a steak on the grill. 46 days until this stops. We are coming after the global warming hoax next. This is some of the cleanest air I have ever smelled.

If I want to cook some meat outside or have a fire, I’m going to do it. Those idiots at the BAAQMD have no authority over me.

And why are you telling us?

I was so happy to see that the air quality was good and I could open up the windows, then the gas powered weed eater and leaf blower started and my house filled up with the smell of gasoline.

@Bummed….You and Aunt Barbara need to get a room together.

At last, some yard work done in the past 2 days. Even planted some lavender! But so much more to catch up on and more smoke predicted to come our way.

So nice today after picking up some gas, I fired up my weedwacker and went to town. Ran the mower and finished up with the leaf blower. Picked up a couple 2 inch ribeyes, beers and charcoal. I have some friends coming over to socialize. I do have a gas grill but I prefer that char broiled flavor on these extra clear days. 🤙🏼

Sam has got it going on!
Enjoy!

Yes,
only to be strangled out by my neighbor who had to light up the charcoal with lighter fluid.
