After more than 1,000 people crowded onto San Francisco’s Ocean Beach on Saturday to celebrate Burning Man, city Supervisor Catherine Stefani on Tuesday urged the city attorney and district attorney to investigate and pursue any potential charges against the party promoters.
The party, which went against city orders that prohibit gatherings of more than 12 people amid the COVID-19 pandemic, was billed as a celebration of Burning Man, the annual counter culture festival held in Nevada’s Black Rock Desert.
Stefani said she’s planning on introducing a resolution at next week’s Board of Supervisors meeting, urging that District Attorney Chesa Boudin and City Attorney Dennis Herrera investigate all large gatherings and, if necessary, take legal action.
“For the past six months, we have been pleading with San Franciscans to share in the sacrifice of our small business owners and frontline workers to keep our community safe,” Stefani said in a statement.
“The large gathering we saw over the weekend was selfish, dangerous, and, in my view, unlawful on the part of the promoters.”
She added, “Those responsible for this event should be held accountable to the fullest extent of the law, and I hope to see swift action from our City Attorney and District Attorney to this effect.”
The party was organized by Collective Conscious and Trap Home Productions, according to an event page on Facebook. It featured 10 hours of performances, as well as activities like a “1-minute group chant to provoke our highest potential,” organizers said.
In the aftermath, Mayor London Breed called the organizers “reckless,” ordering the beach parking lots closed and calling for extra officers to patrol the area to prevent any future large gatherings.
The organizers were not immediately available for comment.

Her murderer, García Zárate’s, is an illegal alien who had stolen a firearm from a federal agent and supposedly tried to shoot a seal. Do you think those prosecuted will face a jury of their PEERS? I doubt it! They will face a jury of people who hate them.
Mayor London Breed is reckless. Closing businesses down causing more harm than good. Here is something to think about. I know someone who took their driving test with the DMV last Friday in Concord. Now you have two strangers in a car (very little space bwtween the two) and they are out for a drive for 15 mins, mask on of course in a confined space. If that is safe how come a barber or estheticiancan can not work with one client at a time. This should raise suspicion or concern.

Agreed. I saw a similar get together on a Saturday afternoon at Fort Mason about a month ago. Must have been about 400 hundred people partying and not a mask or distancing in sight. I submitted my video to some news outlets but nobody reported it. Reckless.

You don’t need to wear a mask to socialize with people you know. People can socialize outside, as long as gatherings don’t get too big.
In Sweden, people were asked to work at home, to distance themselves from people they don’t know, stores had reduced hours, and high school and colleges were closed. Gatherings of more than 50 people were banned in Sweden.
Sweden has a higher death rate and death count compared to the other Scandinavian countries, who do wear masks. In Europe, Sweden has a higher death rate and count compared to many other nations that do wear masks.
Sweden has been seeing a drop in their infection numbers, but not even their own health officials have claimed that they have now reached herd immunity. It’s possible they could get a second wave of infections. Only time will tell.
Sweden has a much smaller population density than the United States. Sweden has 64 people per square mile. California has 251.3 people per square mile.
Sweden had voluntary compliance. No lock down. Didn’t turn out well – worst record in Scandinavia so far. Do your research.
My understanding of most cult indoctrination, brainwashing, or reprogramming attempts require that the individual be isolated socially from friends and cohorts in order to be shaped in a manner which will accept the new belief system.
In EST and other cult organizations, this involves an aggressive psychological attack on the individual driving them into a psychological isolation of sorts. In this very vulnerable place, the individual is want to defend their former values. They are a blank slate. Once they have let go of their most basic and firmest beliefs, they are ready to accept reshaping of the personality to make them acceptable members of whatever group is performing the induction.
I see shades of these methods in the way this Covid-19 matter has been handled. At first, the restrictions were much more lenient before those issuing the orders began to increase the severity of the restrictions. Noncompliance presents a special threat to the success of the effort to achieve 100 percent compliance — which is the goal. Those for which the whole process has been unsuccessful in shaping them to join the new group serve as beacons for the remainder and present them with an alternative which is unacceptable.

You can point to positive or negative aspects of Sweden’s approach. And they still have a ban on gatherings over 50. But this is indisputable: they never fully locked down and they are pretty much done. Cases and deaths are down to tiny numbers.
I will take these politicians seriously when they arrest and lock up fool protesters, put an end to the city takeovers, riots, violence, looting, burning, and racist marxist mayhem against innocent people.
