SLOW DOWN! And you’ll live. All lives matter.

NOT PARTY APPROVED LANGUAGE..You are fined 5 social credit points

Someone else is going to try and prove you wrong again. Paramedics will be standing by.

Yes. I hate to see speeders. There is no reason for that.

Clayton Road has become a racetrack. And at night? But if you can car jack people twice and still be out on the street, what can the police do about speeders?

But watch out folks, Anarchy is always followed by totalitarian government. Be careful which one you choose.

I came by at about 1215 trying to pick up my client in the upper parking lot at Clayton Gardens had to have her walk across the street to pick her up hopefully all will survive that were involved. That house on the corner of Cape Cod has been involved in accidents so many times over the years unbelievable😳

chuckie,

Not always true. Twice in the history of San Francisco vigilance committees arose to replace and improve the justice system.

You’re not wrong! I live off Clayton Rd and sounds like Daytona some nights! People need to SLOW DOWN!!!

Congrats on the photos. Old media has lost the trust of most people. We need more citizen journalists. Seems raceways are everywhere these days. I feel so much is unreported. Long ago Radar was watching. Times have certainly changed.

Texters and speeders, tailgating and agressive driving every minute of every day…but I don’t remember EVER seeing a policeman stop anyone on Clayton Road. I thank God every time I get through this thoroughfare unscathed.

Car jacking? I reread the article twice and saw no mention of that crime. Are you psychic or maybe have a friend on the force? Perhaps one vehicle ran the red and broadsided the other. I try to refrain from speculating or assuming because I feel like a fool after being proved wrong.

Well, Dan. The carjacking comment was referring to another story here on Claycord, where 4 teens were caught in Pleasant Hill after a carjacking in Antioch. One of the suspects was out, even though he had already carjacked two other times this year.

Well, Troll, there is absolutely no reason to mention your feelings about carjacking and the far too liberal policy on releasing suspects and convicts in a story about an accident on Clayton Road. One would think you’re just trying to inflame the public. I bet you had plenty of opportunity to make your position known in response to the car jacking story. Wasn’t enough, eh?

There needs to be a traffic light on that intersection!
City of Concord traffic Department – pay attention!

I observed a trend of speeding upon coming back a half hour ago on Treat Blvd once past Cowell. One guy in a vehicle similar to one above only white swerved around me, couldn’t get a plate # but frame said Oakland. He took a right on Clayton Road. Glad I’m home.

I hope the involved parties are OK. That intersection is dangerous, I always slow down when I approach Cape Cod. More traffic enforcement on Clayton Rd. is needed.

No covid in that neighborhood?

I feel sorry for the people in that corner house. They put big rocks on the corner because cars were always winding up in their front door. Looks like this one avoided the big rocks and went up the side. Hope everyone is ok.

Some like to hear the roar of their own engines while speeding down our public roads. We need a general public allowed race track for these individuals to get their ya ya’s out. It looks bad hope the person or persons and the homeowners are okay.

Sonoma Raceway used to (might still) have public track days and CHP sponsored drag races.

I think Chuckie, Trauma Rx, and Original G should start a radio station. Kinda like Radio Free Europe. We’ll call it “Radio Free California”

I’ll pass, had enough of radio business back in mid to late 1960s.

It is too hot out there to crash.

People drive way too fast on Clayton Road! I hope no one in the house was injured.

Out enjoying the day, running errands and BOOM, in the blink of an eye, tragedy strikes.
It’s sad to see innocent people getting hurt…..Such a bummer.

Judging by the damage to the car, it must have been really moving to flip over and twist the roof so violently, and end up perpendicular to the road. What happened to the other car?

It’s not the speed that kills, but rather the sudden stop. You’ve gotta know your limitations, young drivers of Claycord. (I’m going out on a limb saying this driver was young. I know. Thank you.)

The other car came to rest a few feet up Clayton up on the curb. It’s the black car in the first picture. Front end damage was apparent. I drove by as CPD had just arrived but EMS had not yet gotten to the scene. SUV definitely rolled a couple of times. I didn’t see anyone inside the black car so they must have gotten out by themselves. Debris all over Clayton road. Prayers for all involved.

The car that struck the SUV ended up smashing into a big tree about 100ft ahead.

Looks like a rollover. Hope everyone walked away.

Thanks to Chuckie the Troll for being on scene and providing photos.

Clayton has always been a racetrack.

We have this kind of collision regularly and one of these times we won’t be so lucky. There’s a bus stop there and countless pedestrians every day.

Lucky no one was waiting at the bus stop

I find it disturbing that there are people standing there and staring. There’s obviously nothing that they can do to help, otherwise, they wouldn’t be just standing there. In my opinion, it can only possibly make it difficult for rescuers to swiftly render aid to the accident victims. What the bleep is wrong with people!? Also, this is obviously a very oppressive country that allows those well fed, who must seem to be Hispanics, to spend their time standing at the scene of an accident instead of being at work or somewhere else where they could be productive.

The people standing there staring were almost all inside the house when this happened. They were prettY shook up. Apparently, the house shook so bad from the impact, the living room window broke. Fortunately, they were all in a diffEvent room. I spoke to one of the residents, so that’s how I know.

The city council was informed of this incident. I emailed them today. The mayor and one council member already replied and they will look into improving the safety of that intersection. I guess sending the photos helped.

As for a traffic signal, we’ve asked for one for decades and tHe city keeps denying it with the reason that it would be too close to the next signal down the road.

It’s a holiday, did you forget?

That’s a lot of judgement from looking at the backs of a few strangers.

You can tell a lot from looking mostly at the back of people. So from just a snapshot of these people standing around you can tell they are Hispanics and they are not being productive. As someone pointed out it was a Holiday (although I worked), if they lived in the house, obviously they are productive enough to pay rent or mortgage.
You are just jumping to conclusions with no proof what so ever.
Hope no one judge you that harshly.

You obviously weren’t on the scene so let me clear the air. Those “people standing there and staring” were the first ones out there trying to get the little girl out of the car before first responders came. Not to mention, they are neighbors next door. Keep your two cents to yourself lol.

Neighbor,
In an accident that bad no one other than EMS or the Fire Department should be trying to help anyone get out of that SUV unless it’s on fire. It would be pretty bad to kill someone that wasn’t going to die in the first place, by moving them without knowing what kind of, or were they’re injuries are.

Neighbor,
No one other than EMS orcthe Fire Department, should of been helping anyone get out of that SUV, unless it was on fire or was about to catch on fire. It would be horrible if someone died because someone without any experience decided to move them without the proper training or equipment to do so, not knowing what kind of injuries they have.

Also, forgot to say that I hope that no one was standing at the bus stop at the time of the accident.

Maybe ins. Can government some huge boulders to be delivered to that house

Not saying any of following had anything to do with this incident.

If you look over then reach for your bottled water, how many seconds?

At 40 mph your vehicle is traveling over 58 feet every SECOND. Most people have no idea of distance per second at different speeds or reaction time or braking distance. An with drivers ED no longer taught kids these days don’t seem to know.

Couple of webpages, haven’t posted these in a while.

The photos remind me of a vehicle island landscaping takeout at night about 2 weeks ago, very near where I live. Car traveling eastbound on Geary at Dorothy along PH/WC border at night went right into the landscaped island on south edge of Geary. Took out 3 road signs, 3 trees, and other vegetation. Signs replaced but some of debris and dead trees still there. No way that car drove away. By car parts left, looked to be a small, low profile car with fog lamps. If there were a utility pole or road lamp there, which there is not, from the damage I would expect fatalities.

The ironic part is it happened right in front of neighbor fire station #2. At least they only had to roll the rig out of the station to tend to the mess.

Drivers are so careless and distracted; driving while looking down at phone, etc. I hate to drive, and never expect that a vehicle will stop for me in a crosswalk.

I can’t believe people get up close & just stare! Astonished! Look how close they are!

Most of them were the ones in the house they have every right to stare.

Read the previous comments. People are so quick to judge, without any info, just looking at a picture. Give the people the benefit of doubts until you know more.

Fund more Concord PD traffic motorcycles so they can work evenings. I’d prefer to looking over my shoulder that being hit by a speeding, inexperienced driver.

WOW I hope everyone in the house is ok

Instead of a stoplight, why not simply ban U-turns at the intersection?

Almost every time I’m turning right out of Cape Cod, some jackwagon stopped on the westbound side of the island u-turns in front of me, usually taking up multiple lanes in the maneuver.

Pretty sure uturners have right of way versus people turning right because of stop sign. So many times I uturn to get to my apartment and someone nearly hits me turning right.

Here’s an update for y’all:
Everyone in the house is fine just in shock and a little shaken, however there was a little girl in that car that ended up with a broken arm and broken pelvis.

Im regards to the situation—doesn’t seem like it was a car jacking.
&& yes this house has had so many accidents— just two years this December, someone went to do a U turn there and got bolted into the yard- the back Axel got torn off && jacked a truck in the driveway.

Must have been one of the many idiots who are out there running lights, stop signs and speeding on the local roads not to mention the AUTOBAN on Highway 4. Hope the driver learned a lesson and sorry for the homeowner. Maybe this will teach the other speeders and law breakers to SLOW DOWN.

Doubt it though.

Newest fad among youth, at red light they swerve into empty right or left turn lane then accelerating thru the red light. They’ll also pass on the right at high speed using bike lane.

Sam Malone, Your not kidding about the autoban or is it autobon? Anyways I was coming from Antioch back to Concord on Hwy 4 and was stunned. I was going 70 mph, shame on me, but cars were passing me and racing each other cutting in and out of traffic. No safety first going on there.

Correct German spelling is Autobahn. On the Autobahn there are no speed limits, or at least use to be. My exhusband, and I drove there in 1982, we had bought a BMW from the factory in Munich and when we got on Autobahn we were going 65 miles, everyone flew by us.

A few days later when we driving to Vienna, we got the hang of it and was going about 85-90, never the less a Porsche flew, and I mean flew by us. Only thing is that German drivers are very disciplined, stay in one lane, and for the most part don’t have the congested traffic outside of the cities.

Original G, Its awful and noisy and scary. I see it happening all the time. Depending on the light and the speed limit they go from zero to 40 making a ton of noise. I asked why weren’t the police ticketing these kids and their loud cars. Most of the comments were police busy with the virus and they loved the sound of loud cars on the street. Go figure.

Speed limits on Concord Blvd, Ygnacio Valley Rd, Clayton Rd and Treat Blvd mean NOTHING. When was the last time anyone saw Concord Police giving a speeding ticket. you have a better chance of getting a citation for a car or RV being parked too long on the street or too tall of weeds in your front yard. You don’t even see police vehicles driving our streets.

A few weeks ago on Saturdays there was a very loud group of cars cruising up and down Clayton Rd until 11 pm at night. 4 hours of roaring motors, dragging, and cruising and I never saw a cop car. Seems to me Concord PD is over paid and are not interested in dealing with the problem.
