The CDC this week told states to prepare to distribute a COVID-19 vaccine as early as November.

QUESTION: Will you get a COVID-19 vaccine when/if one comes out? Will you give one to your children?

Talk about it….

No, no and no. I’d rather catch the manufactured virus than take that manufactured overly rushed mystery cure..

Nothing against vaccines, I had all my childhood vaccines, and got the pneumonia and shingles shot a couple of years ago, and I get a flu shot every year. When the COVID shot comes out, I will wait two or three years to see if there are any adverse reactions, if not, then I’ll consider getting it. It doesn’t really matter too much because I’ve made a habit of not touching my face until I get home and wash my hands. I’ve been doing that now for about ten years and I contribute the hand washing to why I never get sick, not even a cold.
As for my children, I have one adult daughter and she can make up her own mind.

If you got the “old” shingle’s shot, you should consider getting the new one, which is much more effective. It’s a 2-dose deal that you have to take within 6 month of each other. I think the old one was something like 20% effective and the new one is 80% or thereabouts.

Wow Dawg you are setting yourself up to have a bad time with Covid with those anual flu shots…

Let the dem whackos try it first. They’re all about “following the science” right?

“Following” science is only done by dems and doing so makes them whackos according to your opinion? Um, ok, got it.

““Following” science is only done by dems…”

Try again. Your reading comprehension needs some work.

Lol….if you follow “Science”…….perhaps you should request to see an actual photo of a virus instead of Computer Generated Images.

Anon – The virus is so small it can only be imaged by an electron microscope.

@Baloo
Um, no you don’t. You misquoted LOL, therefore, you’ve got nothing.

HELL NO!!! Let the Democrats take it first since they are the ones who have been crying over this manufactured virus.

Vaccines work best when they are taken by large numbers of people. But so long as you don’t care about further delays to the economy reopening I guess that might not be a concern. Seems a little self centered, frankly.

lol at Chuq keeo telling yourself that smart guy 🤣

I’m w/Eastbay babe…I’ll take my chances…if that makes me self centered, well then I’ll wear that label and without any regret.

My 2 cents…

I had the Hong Kong Flu in the 60’s; it was horrible.

I remember the Swine Flu of the 70’s and people rushing out to get the “New” vaccine; then becoming horribly ill. I know it was a live virus vaccine, but new just the same.

I think I will wait for the new vaccine to not be new anymore and…
Tried & True!

Can’t do it!!!

Hey Simonpure~

I know how you feel about needles, I’m pretty much on the same page with you,…But I have a Question:…going to the Dentist, how do you work it out if you need a cavity/filling? I went to the Dentist this week and going next week too!,…not happy, 🙁

Oh my gosh Roz. They are the worst. I used to simply not go until the pain was so bad that I had no choice. A few years back I went and found a dentist that sympathized with me and got through a pulling, crown and deep cleaning. Once I got through the deep cleanings I now go quarterly to get them cleaned. No more needles!!!

@simonpure,
Please tell me who this dentist is.

@ Me…she is great. The only one I’ll let touch my teeth.

If Coronavirus was as bad as the handwringers say it is, I’d get the vaccine even if it made me grow a tail. But it isn’t, so no – I won’t.

Our Daughter is 38 yrs. old ,….so it will be up to her what she wants to do.
I will not do the COVID-19 vaccine, just like I don’t do all the others. In other words, ‘what doesn’t kill you, makes you stronger’,….so to each their own.

I’ll get a flu shot like I do every year. Covid-19 shots will have to wait until they are as routine as the flu shot. Might take a few years to be sure.

Because I am extremely allergic to some ingredients used as preservatives in shots…. and also because I am “ancient old” and strongly believe that people who are younger and raising families should be the first to receive available vaccine…. I’ll have to have my physician investigate ingredients, and if everything is all right for me, then I’ll wait my turn.

Also, I am strongly inclined to have …. by law…. the first trial vaccinations be given to prisoners on death row.

No way! Like Dawg said I will wait a couple of years as well to see how it goes. And in L0L’s words “I will let them whackos have had it first.”

Absolutely not. It’s a cold/flu virus with a 99.7% survival rate.

Ignorant and arrogant.

@me Why are you so insulting? Will stated absolute facts. You’re not one of those conspiracy nuts that thinks COVID-19 is an actual virus are you? Its about the election..We call it the JoeBid-19

I’ll be waiting until ALL career politicians have gotten theirs.

Good point!
Watch what politicians do and wait for the outcome.
Or, do what Antler says above. Give it to death row inmates first.
Hmmm. There are similarities.

It won’t be an actual vaccine (like Polio, etc). There are no vaccines for any of the other six strains of Corona Virus, nor is there a vaccine that even works for the common flu. So hard pass, but y’all go ahead and do whatever makes you feel safe.

Yes….and chip me too.
I must do their bidding….ZOMBIES!
Baaaa

The earliest a vaccine would be available is next Spring in order for it to complete the testing cycle. I will wait to see what science and doctors say about it. Then I will decide whether to get the vaccine.

This should not be political. This should only be about science and the best real doctors know.

Not my kids, no. Because it isn’t dangerous for them to get the virus. Maybe the teenagers, but probably not.

I will likely get it myself but I won’t be jumping up to be first in line. I’m not most at risk so it probably wouldn’t be available for me until early 2021 at best. By that point the data will be a little older, so that’s a bonus.

UN says new polio outbreak in Sudan caused by oral vaccine. WHO said two children in Sudan were paralyzed in March and April. Both had been recently vaccinated against polio.

https://abcnews.go.com/Technology/wireStory/polio-outbreak-sudan-caused-oral-vaccine-72766683

Yes, the oral tablet contains a weakened virus that is supposed to be destroyed by the stomach acid. Sometimes it isn’t and it rapidly mutates in the body back to its stronger form. True wild type polio has been virtually eliminated, but now because children are sometimes sickened by the vaccine strain, the vaccine strain spreads and more oral vaccines have to be delivered to protect against it. It’s a self perpetuating cycle and now they can’t stop giving the oral vaccine because it ended up creating the very thing it was intended to end.
Children become paralyzed from the oral polio vaccine every year.

And a “fun” fact: Some people continue to shed polio in feces for decades

Granted I am 46, but none of my vaccines were ever oral.

The oral polio vaccine is used in other countries because it is cheaper and easier to distribute than the shot.
They haven’t given the tablets in the US for a long time, but it’s common in 3rd world counties.

I never had the flu, I got a flu shot years ago when I lived in New York City and was in my twenties, I did have a reaction was sick for about 2 days. I have not had a cold in 8-9 years. I will get the Covid 19 vaccine, when I think it is safe, meaning I will not be among the first ones, but after listening to experts I trust and if after a few month there seem to be no strong adverse reaction I will get it.

Yes, absolutely. There’s no way I’m putting up with any more months or YEARS of this uncertainty if I don’t have to. If the first vaccine type doesn’t work on me, I’ll take the second. Or the third. The scale of Phase 3 trials is large enough that I feel pretty confident about safety. Heck, I’d have volunteered for the trials myself if I didn’t have a 50% chance of ending up in the control group or have to be constantly and instantly available for calls/email.

At this point, it’s a lot safer to take a minor risk than to do without.

I don’t have kids, but if I did, I’d get them vaccinated.

Last Tuesday evening my wife and I were at a restaurant in downtown Walnut Creek. Who is the obnoxious guy driving around in a large open air truck blasting horrible sounding music while advertising some kind of tours? He must of drove past our table outside at least two dozen times. Very annoying!

Could it be Cosmo Cramer on the Covid reality tour?

I will be vaccinated for COVID-19 as soon as it is deemed effective and safe for me to do so by someone who is in a position to know, and who I feel I can trust. I’ve already been enough of a statistic and an involuntary guinea pig for this administration, I’m in no hurry to be their statistic and voluntary guinea pig. I do not have to make the choice for any minor children, thank God.

No. Vaccines are not organic. Plus I prefer to let my body develope immunity.
Also, I have a family member who is allergic to substances. Suffers seizures if eats certain things. As in cannot leave a bed for several days. This out of the blue if he eats canned or processed foods.
Hydroxychloroquine -Z Pac is the proper medicine for people like us.

No thanks. I will wait about 5 years for all of the side effects to be known, and the so-called “experts” of today, will by then, have had seasoned knowledge.
