Welcome to Concord.! The city where criminals run wild, homeless encampments on every corner, and one of the highest Covid infection rates.

I sure hope you don’t believe that the criminal actually lives in Concord…

Majority of crime in Concord are committed by Concord’s outstanding residents. Monument Blvd, Solano Way, Detroit Ave, and the list goes on. No one from Alamo or Walnut Creek comes into Concord to commit crimes.

@KingOfC—- Yes, definitely sure that the Circle K on Ygnacio is NOT part of Clayton.

“Majority of crime in Concord are committed by Concord’s outstanding residents”

As usual, Trauma is mouthing off with absolutely no knowledge of what he/she is talking about! Source Trauma? Source?

@Oh, please: what are you implying?

Who said anything about folks from Alamo coming here to comitt crime! Lol. It is almost always “Bay Point man” or “woman from Antioch” when you see these police reports.

@TraumaRx: sources please.

@TraumaRx
Lots dirtbags come over to Concord from pittsburg/bay point.

Politics, aside, let’s all wish the victim well. A shot to the gut is very serious. Prayers for his/her recovery.

Yeah, this ban on guns is working well. Let’s make more useless laws banning guns……. If only we had a right or a bill or something that said we were allowed to keep and bear arms to protect ourselves and some politicians with the balls to allow us to do so.

Well said.

What are you talking about, there’s no ban on guns. Guns are as easy as ever to buy.

Wait till Biden gets in office.

To “Bill”: u r correct- guns used in this type crimes are usually stolen!

What are the chances this is a drug purchase gone bad?? Of course, the victim is not going to admit he was trying to stiff the dealer!

If ever there was a time to exercise your 2nd Amendment rights, its now.

If you don’t own a gun, go to City Arms, Big 5, etc and pick one out. Currently the inventory is lacking, but once your background check is approved it will be easier to buy your next gun and to stock up on ammo.
,
And, yes they have been chipping away at our gun rights. But a recent ruling has ended the ban on high capacity magazines, which of course was a backdoor strategy to ban certain guns.

Let’s not end up like Canada, where it is under all circumstances, ILLEGAL to defend yourself with a firearm. And where prissy, corrupt plutocrats like Trudeau are able to unilaterally ban thousands of firearms, during the distraction of Covid.

“But a recent ruling has ended the ban on high capacity magazines…”

The (former) ban was on standard capacity magazines.

People, neighbors – This is not good! This wasn’t some sketchy drug deal at circle k gone bad. This was a young man walking home from his restaurant shift at about 2:30 in the morning because he can’t afford a car, being SHOT probably over his backpack with his drawings in it. The absolute last guy who needs this mess in his life.

I am so sorry to hear this. Absolutely heartbreaking.

Teresa: I do not recall in the report that there was any witnesses. How do you know all this info? There was not a mention of a backpack. .

It says it happened at 5:40am. He had been walking for 3 hours and 10 minutes?

I’m not sure of the timelines. We haven’t talked to him yet because he’s still an a ventilator. I just happen to know this young man through my best friend here in Concord. And he’s a hardworking guy who wasn’t up to anything. I hope he recovers well.

Thank you Teresa,
I hope this young man recovers completely. This is a life altering situation and I seriously doubt if he was carrying a gun he could have done anything anyway. Prayers go out to him.

yes he was carrying his backpack he always carries a backpack and yes I know him. My prayers are with him as he recovers from this horrible crime.

Concord made a deal to let all the illegal immigrants into Monument, Detroit area the last 30 years. Keep building those apartment complexes, denser population. Normalization of homelessness. More and more of this garbage is happening. Not just in Concord. Look at SF, San Jose etc.

Right, except for those 3 Hispanic “gentlemen” arrested in Walnut Creek 2 days after tripping a burglar alarm. I guess that short barreled shotgun found in their car was simply a “tool of their trade”.

Wow, you jumped right to illegal immigrants. It was probably some white tweaker.

ZZ. Your description of the changes that have occurred around Monument in the past thirty years are accurate, but a “deal”? Between which parties was this deal struck? And how did each party expect to benefit from its implementation?

How the hell did you know the perpetrator was an illegal immigrant?

Totally irrelevant, that neighborhood is maybe 15 minutes drive from this Circle K.

The more we spend to fund illegal for life, the less we have to help our needy. The worse things then get.

@eyeseeyou
Not totally irrelevant. Those three men just arrested took a drive from San Jose to Walnut Creek. A lot farther than 15 minutes.

Immigration make deals with cities.

You guys talk about this but not about what happened on Solano way last night.

Ever since they started housing the homeless over at the old best western. There have been more tweakers and riff raff causing problems.

I hope and pray he’ll be ok.

We citizens need to be able to protect ourselves. I love the Blue but with everything going on with the Democrats/socialists law reinforcement are under attack! We need to buy more guns and protect ourselves and our neighborhoods. I grow up a DemocRAT and never looked into any of these corrupt politicians till Trump came along. Vote Republican across the board or we will lose everything we have worked so hard for.

Tell me there is video of the incident.

Peoples lives are way more important than stolen cars.

You can replace a car, you can not replace a human being who has family and friends who care about him.

Praying for full recovery for the victim and that justice will be served to the lowlife who did this to someone innocent who did not deserve this.

I hope and pray that the person who did this gets found and put in jail for the rest of their life.

Put in jail for the rest of their life? Nope, not as long as we have liberal DA’s and judges. It will get pleaded down to assault with a deadly weapon, and if the perp doesn’t have a long rap sheet, they’ll get a couple of years at most.

@ Dawg. The person who did shoot the innocent man, when caught deserves to stay in jail for the rest of their life, regardless if they can make bail!

Stolen cars matter. We as a society have become too tolerant of those who take another person’s property either by force or opportunity. We can make all the excuses in the world (bad upbringing, drug addiction, mental illness, your insurance will cover the car, lives are more important, and blah-blah-blah; however, acceptance, inaction and complacency is going to hurt us all in the long run.

@jjshawk Peoples lives matter way more than a stolen car.

Yes, people who steal cars are important to be caught, but lives are way more important than a car that could just be replaced.

People can not be replaced. People are individually and uniquely made. No person is exactly the same as any another person.

Cars are manufactured and can be replaced.

My point was, I don’t care about the lives of violent thieves or any other violent criminals, and the State Legislators are too soft-hearted to solve the problem. Yes, they (violent criminals) are uniquely made, uniquely sociopathic, and overall, uniquely $&@?”;-up.

@jjshawk if you read my original post and replies that you decided to rudely reply to, you would know what I meant about peoples lives being more important than a stupid car theft. I was obviously NOT talking about the person who shot the innocent young man, rather quite opposite! I made it quite obvious as to how I feel that the person who did this should rot in jail and that the innocent young man who got shot is the uniquely made individual that could never be replaced.

I have no idea how stolen cars pertain to this thread. Nevertheless, we used to hang horse thieves. I think that punishment is appropriate for car thieves and armed robbers.

yes! I think that punishment is appropriate as well or life in jail with no bail. Layla posted, “You guys talk about this but not about what happened on Solano way last nigh?” Thats why I brought up peoples lives being more important that stolen cars.

Actually TraumaRx, you are wrong, many of the crimes that occur in Concord are not from Concord residence. They come from out of the area. I know someone who was the victim of a home invasion here in Concord and the criminals were from Richmond.

@ ChuckStir

Just a heads up, Trauma is nothing more than a troll that loves to spout out comments that incite people’s anger. Ignore him/her! They’re not worth the time or space here on Claycord!

@ChuckStir please cite or else you’re just spreading fake news.

Young man is my brother. He’s in the hospital and is in recovery. I don’t care about your political leanings or your opinions on the state county gun control or anything else. How about, “we are sorry. We are in this together, we pray for a speedy recovery “. You turn this into a political issue and forget there’s a real life involved. Take your politics to the poles with your silent vote and leave this page for those with hearts.

So sorry this happened to your brother. We will keep him and your family in our thoughts and prayers.

I’m sorry for your brother. Wish him a speedy recovery and best of luck to your family.

Hoping for a quick and complete recovery. It very easily could have been far worse.

B, I completely agree. I wish your brother complete healing and pray he has peace because experiencing this must be horrible. I also pray for you and your family’s strength and support of him during this time.

P.S. And guns to protect yourself in your homes and property has not been taken away by our government. It is still out constitutional right. Unless you get a special permit to carry a concealed weapon you should not have one on you or in your car.

This is good news. I’ve been praying since Thursday only thing that’s been on my mind

I hope your brother recovers quickly, and that justice will be served.

If you don’t care about anyone’s opinion, political or otherwise, why are you cruising a public opinion forum?

I don’t know your brother, nor you for that matter, so it would be disingenuous to offer my sincere condolences.

I do however live in the area and have lived in the area for quite some time, and feel perfectly justified on commenting on its current condition with the intent of making it a better place, so the type of thing that happened to your brother occurs less and less.

Problems can’t be solved without discussion, no matter how self-righteous the call for silence.

B,
My prayers are with your brother and your family. I’ve been worried since I found out.

Wishing a quick recovery for your brother. and no digestive issues later. That must have been scary for him. I’m glad someone was able to call for help in time.

I know from personal experience that police reports are not always accurate. The time the shooting occurred is really irrelevant anyway. I know the victim and can say with absolute certainty that this was not a drug-related crime. He is a hard-working young man who’s had a steady job for years. He is also known to pick up extra work sometimes working 2 and 3 jobs at a time just to make ends meet. He didn’t deserve to be shot and he doesn’t deserve people’s opinions about it. Please pray for this young man’s recovery and that the lost souls who perpetrated this crime are caught before someone gets killed.

Nice … kinda nostalgic feom the Roundtee BK fatal stabbing. Ahhhhhh … so miss CrimeCord.

Thank you CPD!

108RS is responding and ready to assist Concord PD. And, bought more ammo earlier in the week.

108RS

Where did you manage to find ammo? I’m glad I stocked up a while back because it’s getting hard to find.

B, so sorry to hear about your brother. I pray for his recovery. No one deserves to have their belongings stolen and to be shot. What I believe everyone to be saying, is your brother was unable to protect himself due to politics. In California it’s impossible to get a permit to carry a gun. Again I am praying for your family and your brother.

B, I completely agree. I wish your brother complete healing and pray he has peace because experiencing this must be horrible. I also pray for you and your family’s strength and support of him during this time.

P.S. And guns to protect yourself in your homes and property has not been taken away by our government. It is still our constitutional right. Unless you get a special permit to carry a concealed weapon you should not have one on you or in your car.

I take exception to the comment that it is always a Bay Point man, every and I mean every city or township has it’s bad element including the person who said Bay Point man!!!

B,

Very sorry about your brother and hope for his speedy and complete recovery.

But, this is political. Politicians have early released thousands of criminals because of CV19, budget and liberal leanings. Maybe one of them shot your brother, hopefully we will find out.

I patrolled the streets for sixteen years, there are bad people out there and the progressives just don’t want to understand.

108RS

I’m so sorry that happened to your brother. This is just horrible!! My husband who’s getting on in yers has had to be quick on his feet more than a few times on his way to work in the early am in this end of town also. We are like sitting ducks out there. I do really hope he gets back to his normal state of health very soon.

Wow….I knew that area around clayton was bad, but wow.

That’s right, Plinko……stay out of Clayton. It’s way too dangerous.

“….Investigators say the victim was approached by a man who demanded the victim’s property..”

What kind of “property” is someone standing in front of a Circle K at 5:30am gonna have? Microfilm containing proof Princess Diana was assassinated?

This is so exciting. I have dreamed about living in the wide west since I was a boy. Lets just close all the prisons and let the rest of the criminals out so we can have a real hoedown.

B, Thinking of you and your brother and praying for both of you in the situation. Glad you spoke up to remind everyone there’s a human being to be concerned about and that it’s not just a news item to opinionate about. Hoping for quick improvement and better times ahead.

opinionate

nice word choice

Compassion (noun)sympathetic and concern for the suffering or misfortunes of others
Empathy (noun) The ability to understand the feelings of others. I wont go into Geography which some of you also lack.

Any chance this guy shot himself???? Cameras everywhere and NO suspect description. Makes you wonder.

Strange things are afoot at the Circle K.
