CASES BY CITY:
PRIOR DAY TOTALS:
The population of Contra Costa County is about 1.1-million.
Seen a huge increase in Mtz … does anyone know if it’s the jail? Or homeless camp?
It’s the goon squad who affiliate themselves with George Soros.
I don’t want people to get sick, but it happens. In this case, as long as people aren’t dying, the increases are good because it leads to herd immunity. The healthy recover and go back to their daily lives. Go to the CDC website and you will see that deaths have drastically decreased. To me that’s the bottom line. We’ll be fine. I just feel bad for the local small businesses and neighbors who have to start over.
Bob,
“Server not found” on CDC website case count. What is up with that?
I understand what you’re saying and that it can seem really frustrating to stay shut down when the numbers haven’t become the catastrophe we saw in NYC. But deaths have drastically decreased specifically because we’ve been able to slow the spread to keep ICU beds available and give our doctors time to learn how to protect themselves and heal patients. From what I’ve read there are still questions about immunity, the duration of it and the possibility of asymptotic spread if people do get reinfected. Also, many people who “recover” face long term damage and lingering symptoms months afterward. I know it’s really scary to think about and easier to cling to the idea that herd immunity is the simple answer, but unfortunately nothing about this is simple. The fact that we have 51 ICU beds available while we are going into a holiday weekend that will probably increase spread is a success and we should celebrate it. If you’ve been doing your part in masking and distancing, thank you for helping us get there.
Actually, looks like Walnut Creek will likely see a spike in cases as well. According to a WC Police Department post:
“Planned Demonstration on August 29th. Bay Area Grassroots plans to peacefully demonstrate by marching between 1 PM -4 PM on Saturday, August 29th. The march will begin at City Hall and make its way downtown, ending at Civic Park, where there will be several speakers. Expect road closures downtown during this march.”
