Your right, this is why our President totally isnt doing mail in voting for himself!!!!
Oh wait……he is doing an absentee ballot.
Voter froaud is such a none issue the fact that people think its a problem is a laughable.
I believe every mail-in ballot has the signature on the outside of the envelope verified against the signature that is on file that was on the voter registration card.
Not possible. You guys will believe anything if you actually believe voting officials are trained forensic handwriting specialists. Give me a break. How can it be so? Are people really this gullible? Maybe for absentee ballots they have some kind of half a** system to verify. For every vote?? You don’t understand logistics. How would they even have my signature to compare? This is the new democrat crisis. They can’t even try to not have a temper tantrum every 3 seconds
Yes. In California, the signatures must match the registration record. In several other states you must send in a copy of the picture ID of the registered voter.
Signature Verification
Once ballots have been scanned into the state voter registration system as received, they are ready
to be processed by the Signature Verification judges. Signature verification is the process of
comparing the signature on the back of the voter’s ballot return envelope with that voter’s signatures
which are scanned into the state voter registration system database.
Each time that a voter completes a voter registration form, the signature used is captured and
scanned into the voter’s record. Each time that a voter signs a ballot envelope, that signature is
captured and scanned into the voter’s record. These are the signatures that are compared against
the signature on the current ballot return envelope. This process ensures that only the eligible elector
can cast a ballot in an election.
Each signature verification judge is required to take signature verification training prior to being a
signature verification judge. Every voter writes differently and no voter signs his/her name exactly the
same way twice. This training assists the judges in determining whether or not the signatures are
consistent with each other.

Does it really matter?
I can’t help but think that the talley has already been decided.
No. Some people feel a rush of patriotism in voting in person. If we can make it safe for them, let’s make it available. I’ve been voting by mail for 50 years but why not accomodate the feelings of others if we can keep the voters and those who work the polls safe? I do hope everyone will vote as early as possible so we can, at least, rid ourselves of a wait for results.
No. Haven’t there been cases where there are more votes cast than there are registered voters? But according to the liberals, there is no cheating going on. See Chicago for example or the boxes of votes found floating in San Francisco Bay.
Will, Your caveat is “If you can go grocery shopping in person or attend a ‘protest’ in person you can vote in person.” It’s 2020 and there is a pandemic. Many people have their groceries delivered these days or have them put in their trunks in a parking lot. No one I know–and we’ve been marching in protests since the 1960s–has gone in person to protest anything since March because of the pandemic, Ergo, sir, the discussion is not closed for those who are SIP. .
@ concordRez, not sure where you have been, but many many people are shopping. You may not have gone to a protest, but did you see the Dodge dealership in Oakland, or downtown Walnut Creek, or the ‘event’ in downtown Martinez? Those people are out and about. If they can be out, we can vote in person. If you want to vote by mail, it is called absentee voting.
So, if you can’t go vote in person for some reason, you can request an absentee ballot, just like you always could.
Funny how Democrats are always accusing Republicans of closing down polling places to make it harder for minorities to vote, but now they’re the ones trying to make everybody vote by mail. What about all the poor minorities who don’t have access to a post office, or a mailbox, or a pen, or saliva to lick an envelope? Who’s going to stand up for their rights?
You people are IDIOTS! Both are legal and acceptable.
If the State can provide polling places AND people want to go vote in person go f’ing do it!! If the State CANNOT PROVIDE enough polling places that people have to travel OVER ONE HOUR TO GET THERE OR WAIT OVER ONE HOUR IN LINE, they should get the choice to VOTE BY MAIL. NO EXCEPTIONS.
Don’t take away from us who have been using the mail for 40 years. Yes, I CAN GO OUT AND VOTE, BUT USE MY RIGHT TO VOTE BY MAIL.
YES, there are people out there going to work, going shopping, etc but that doesn’t mean there are still very VULNERABLE PEOPLE who shouldn’t go out yet. My MIL is still locked up in a nursing home; until they have zero positive tests from residents and employees, they can only get out for medical reasons.

No. Ive voted by mail for years and have always felt my vote doesn’t count, because they announced the results before counting the mail in ballots. It takes too long to count mail in ballots. They won’t have the results timely. People from both sides will think ballots weren’t counted or were double counted.
Keep it as an option, not a requirement.

I have a son and he has a wife and even though they lean to the left they wouldn’t bother to register or go to the polls. They don’t watch the news and have no idea what is going on. Just rumors. Now they will be able to fill out a ballot they don’t care that much about. Hardly seems fair does it?
That’s not unusual. Maybe they’ll just throw it away. Or maybe they’ll look at it and figure out what to do, and start participating in our Democratic process. But they won’t without registering first.
Well now for those paying attention back in 2018,
“More than 23,000 Californians were registered to vote incorrectly by state DMV”, the headline on an LA Times article. A subsequent article again from LA Times,
“Layered on top of previous mistakes, California’s DMV finds an additional 1,500 people wrongly registered to vote under new system”
Seems democrats running this state lack competence, or is it pernicious malfeasance ? ?
@OG
I cannot open your links. But what has this to do with the question about mail-in voting? Assuming these errors have not been fixed, wouldn’t these wrongly registered individuals be able to vote either way?

No, leave it the way it is. If a voter wants to vote by mail, they can apply for an absentee ballot. The Dems are trying everything they can to fix the election in their favor. They want to lower the voting age to 16, they want to allow non US citizens and prison inmates to vote. They want to get the mail in ballots out so voters will vote early before they have a chance to watch the debates.
The Dems are scared, they know Trump is going to be re-elected and they are doing their best to sabotage the election. It won’t work, Trump has a solid record to run on and Biden has nothing, 47 years of nothing.
@Dawg,
I concur…leave it the way it is…if you can go to grocery store, you can muster up the courage to vote in person for one of the most important elections in recent times—and times are desperate for the Dems! SO, it’s a solid NO for all mail in voting.

No, people should still be able to go to the polls safely. But some depend on mail in ballots for many reasons. Fraud being a problem with mail in ballots is a myth, perpetuated by the current administration. We have been doing mail in voting for years is California without a problem. It’s just important to mail your ballot in ASAP to be sure it’s counted early!
Ok Guido. Democrats change their position to suit their argument at the time. Democrats were all against mail in voting because it’s ripe for fraud. Now they want it because it’s ripe for fraud. You even saying it’s not a problem and that Trump is perpetuating is a fraud on your part. good job Guido your a partisan hack spreading fake info to your neighbors.
💥💥💥💥A NJ judge rules that the Paterson, Nj election Did not count and must be done again due to major mail in voting fraud. 😱What happened Guido? Looks like your Guido self was wrong. Will you admit it? Just imagine if this happened on the presidential..🎟🤡🌎
@Sam
The Paterson case involved a postal worker who was indicted. There was also illegal vote harvesting by one of the council members on the ticket. The Council member was a Republican, so maybe this is why Republicans are so concerned about fraud???
@Guido
“a myth, perpetuated by the current administration.”
Man, that’s rich. I’m here to tell you that it’s no myth that my sister received her voting materials already…….too bad she’s been dead for two years. But they won’t go to waste, wink wink.
What’s your point? The reason mail in voting didn’t work was fraud. You dims sure have a problem with facts not working in your favor.

August 24, 2020 - 1:05 PM 1:05 PM
No, but everyone should be mailed a ballot to either be mailed back or to turn in to a polling station. Anyone that is legally allowed to vote and wants to vote should be allowed to vote. Only fascists want to make voting harder. Study after study has shown that there is no mass voter fraud. Also, studies have shown that mail in voting does not favor one party over another. Oregon has had some form of all mail in voting since 1981 and has been supported by both political parties. This is only a recent trend by the Republicans to stifle voter turnout by any means necessary like closing polling stations in urban areas to cause 2+ hour waits, pushing for voter ID laws, shutting down vote by mail, election fraud, and terrible gerrymandering (this is a problem with both parties).

No. Using the virus as a excuse to push this is ridiculous. There has always been absentee voting for those that can’t make it in. And often those are held up in late counting. But besides that the polling places can be ran safely if they just think it through. To start every time I have voted most people are already spaced out giving each other privacy. They can use pencils like they do on golf courses that can be tossed or put in a bin and sterilized in batch’s If we can go grocery shopping then there is no real reason to throw out in person voting and try to go all mail in. There are way to many holes already in it for abuse and fraud and trying to do it in such a short period of time makes no sense at all. Also it seems that the only ones pushing it hard are the Democrats. There actions over the last few years have left me feeling that I will never trust them again until they clean up there crap. The media does a great job of trying to cover for them, but when you look things up it is never fully stated the same as what they want portrayed

absolutely not. it would result in total chaos, which is all the dems really want at this point. no matter the losing side, they would contest. it’s not that it’s just possible for there to be fraud with mail in voting (extra ballots, etc), mail in voting is the fraud (perpetuated by the dems) itself. it introduces uncertainty that doesn’t need to be there and shouldn’t be a part of the voting process.

I think if the majority of voting is done by mail, we aren’t going to know the results for weeks and whomever loses is going to scream and kick and cry endlessly. I can’t believe in 2020, we can’t figure out secure online voting with the ability to go back and check your choices to ensure they haven’t been altered. I heard somewhere that 30% of mail ballots are not counted because of issues filling them out correctly, so can you imagine what will happen in narrowly decided contests?
The same people who pretend there is no difference between legal and illegal aliens also pretend there is no difference between all mail-in voting and absentee voting. It would be charitable to pretend they are stupid instead of being actively involved in trying to steal an election.
You didn’t get more because I respect you for enjoying voting in person. I just don’t agree with the mail drama. The doctors who have been calling the shots since this started both give their blessings for in person voting. Why don’t you believe in science now but your following the old science from the same people from months ago? Odd

We essentially already have it in Contra Costa County. In the 2016 General Election some 481,355 votes cast. Some 309,319 were mail in ballots. So that is 64% by mail. Of course we have 21% of the registered voters who did not even vote! We have 10% more registered voters this year than 4 years ago.
Can our voting officials handle another 200,000 ballots by mail – why not?
One of those 21% of registered voters who did not vote is my ex, who moved to Fl. in 2011, hasn’t voted in Ca since, but still gets all the voting materials. I tried to get his name removed twice, but he has to write to them or email them to request his name be removed. I haven’t talked to him since 2011, and don’t want to. Once a registered voter, always? Years ago my adult kids were listed for years after they moved out, but after one or two times of not voting in the National election they were removed, How many thousands are like that, because people do move– frequently!

For all the people who are so anxious to vote in person, the County is desperately short-handed when it comes to poll workers. Why not volunteer? That way, you can help your fellow citizens who would prefer to vote in person. Not interested? Then how are those who are elderly, ill, concerned about exposure to COVAID 19, or other personal reasons supposed to vote. If you’re not part of the solution, you are part of the problem,
Nice try, but the problem is the mishandling of mail-in ballots. I know I am not part of that problem, as I don’t handle or mishandle mail-in ballots. Perhaps you should talk with the people who mishandle mail-in ballots as a solution might lie within that process or lack there of. Of course that might require accountability, which could be problematic….

I’m not sure why people keep saying we have already been doing mail in voting in California and there has never been an issue. No idiots, the voter must request to have their ballot mailed to them. I have had my ballot mailed to me for several elections, though I do not trust dropping it in an actual mailbox. I always drop mine in the ballot box at the city of Concord. When you request to vote by mail it means your name is no longer on the list at your designated polling place to vote in person. Universal mail in means the voter would get a ballot in the mail and also be on the list to vote at their polling place if they choose. Could someone get away with voting twice? I have no idea but why risk it. Also, there is no address verification with universal mail in voting. And enough with the matching up of the signature. Do you people really think someone or some machine is matching signatures? Come on. I am also sick of hearing, ” other states like Washington have this system for years without any voter fraud issues.” Well folks, other states like WA also require identification and it took WA State a lot longer than just a few months to set the state up to vote by mail. President Trump makes a valid point. Universal mail in voting does present the possibility of voter fraud but I guess if you are a supporter of the hologram in a basement Biden then you will take any help you can get. Voter fraud included.

It should be however people want to vote, but voting in person should require all the precautions required to shop: mask; 6 feet of space; hand sanitizer for folks after touching the voting equipment; etc. Voting by mail should not be hampered by reducing the number of mail boxes, the equipment needed to sort and route the mail, or by any other devious means to disenfranchise voters. Yes. In California, the signatures must match the registration record. In several other states you must send in a copy of the picture ID of the registered voter.
@Sam
Have you ever heard of scanning technology?

No. Haven’t there been cases where there are more votes cast than there are registered voters? But according to the liberals, there is no cheating going on. See Chicago for example or the boxes of votes found floating in San Francisco Bay.
@Hayden Barsotti
This is sh!t of urban legends and lack credibility without sources cited. Provide sources if you are going to make outrageous claims.
“Outrageous claims”?
I remember when this crap happened.
Ballots in Bay….

More votes than voters in Detroit…. Trump won Michigan… barely… but Democrat Hillary Clinton overwhelmingly prevailed in Detroit.

Urban legends Wipe?
20 years ago some LIDS were found floating. But those Dems sure know how to have a good conspiracy.
No. A request for mail in is acceptable.
No. If you can go grocery shopping in person or attend a “protest” in person you can vote in person. End of discussion.
Will, you are spot on.
My thoughts exactly… thank you
Totally agree!
What if you cannot go to the store or as you say attend a protest, whatever that means?
Will, Your caveat is “If you can go grocery shopping in person or attend a ‘protest’ in person you can vote in person.” It’s 2020 and there is a pandemic. Many people have their groceries delivered these days or have them put in their trunks in a parking lot. No one I know–and we’ve been marching in protests since the 1960s–has gone in person to protest anything since March because of the pandemic, Ergo, sir, the discussion is not closed for those who are SIP. .
Will, completely agree. No to mail in voting.
NO! If you want to vote by mail request an absentee.
Sure, why not? Get multiple ballots and vote multiple times. It’s the only way Biden can win and they know that. The dems most certainly do not want ANYONE voting in person. Ooooooooh, that’s way too dangerous with the pandemic and all.
i have been using absentee ballots for years now. this is such a silly debate.
heck the real question is: are you OK with Nancy deciding the next president?
see the 20th amendment
This year NO but the next four year hopefully it will be safe with trump is gone
No! According to the 19th amendment femails also have the right to vote.
Ha!
I see what you did there. I’m always a fan of clever wordplay.
Yes, only males who own land should be able to vote.
Now that I’ve triggered a whole lot of people, here’s what I really believe. We need to vote in-person after showing a valid photo ID proving we are eligible to vote. One person, one vote, period. I say NO to “vote harvesting” and other Liberal dirty tricks.
Absentee ballots by mail are fine, universal mailing is just plain stupid like no voter I.D. How many dead people are going to vote this year or people that get two ballots because they moved to a different state/location??
I’m sure all the registered voter list have been cleansed and up to date (NOT).
The fact I was able to vote two years ago without an ID because I forgot it should tell you everything you need to know. And I quote, “This is California, you don’t need an ID to vote.” is what I was told…..
Hardly seems fair does it?
can you explain? How, if they don’t bother to register would they be able to vote?
https://www.latimes.com/politics/la-pol-ca-dmv-voter-registration-error-20180905-story.html
https://www.latimes.com/politics/la-pol-ca-dmv-more-voter-registration-errors-20181008-story.html
@OG
I cannot open your links. But what has this to do with the question about mail-in voting? Assuming these errors have not been fixed, wouldn’t these wrongly registered individuals be able to vote either way?
@Ricardoh, not sure why they would get a ballot if they did not register to vote.
Ricardoh:
If your son and daughter in law aren’t registered, they won’t receive ballots. End of that fallacy.
@Dawg,
I concur…leave it the way it is…if you can go to grocery store, you can muster up the courage to vote in person for one of the most important elections in recent times—and times are desperate for the Dems! SO, it’s a solid NO for all mail in voting.
didn’t Fauci say there is no reason to that people can’t vote in person with the correct measures in place? I’d rather cast my vote in person.
as long as a rep of the dems is telling you who to vote for i am sure faccu is OK with it.
@Sam
The Paterson case involved a postal worker who was indicted. There was also illegal vote harvesting by one of the council members on the ticket. The Council member was a Republican, so maybe this is why Republicans are so concerned about fraud???
@Guido
No,….people should have a choice. Myself, been doing voting by mail for 20 years, and have friend who go to polling place,…they want their ‘Vote’ sticker.
“I think if the majority of voting is done by mail,” …. think again
https://www.sos.ca.gov/elections/historical-absentee/
You thought wrong. Will you admit it?
No way.
The same people who pretend there is no difference between legal and illegal aliens also pretend there is no difference between all mail-in voting and absentee voting. It would be charitable to pretend they are stupid instead of being actively involved in trying to steal an election.
here’s praying you are RIGHT!!!
No
I’ve always enjoyed voting in person, but I think we should be mailing it in this time, so yes.
No
You told me!
You didn’t get more because I respect you for enjoying voting in person. I just don’t agree with the mail drama. The doctors who have been calling the shots since this started both give their blessings for in person voting. I don’t know why after 8 months of following their words NOW you think we shouldn’t follow the science and health professionals advice. What gives? Why don’t you believe in science now but your following the old science from the same people from months ago? Odd
No, not everyone wants to do it that way. I do vote by mail and have for years. I do because for a few years my polling place got moved around from anywhere between 2 blocks away to over 2 miles away. It was like a new place each time. So I do vote by mail now. Actually take it over to Martinez and leave in in the Registrar’s office.
Regardless of how you vote or who you vote for, just do it.
No. Dr Fauci said voting in person is safe if proper precautions are put in place.
https://www.businessinsider.com/fauci-says-in-person-election-with-distancing-masks-is-safe-2020-8
Mail in voting allows for too many unknowns which will undoubtedly cause many to question the validity of the election.
No no no. The Dems have wanted mail in voting for years. Which tells me alot.
No, just no. It can be done safely. If you can shop at Cosco and Targét, there should be no reason whatsoever that life cannot return to normal with precautions.
No,
If you can go to Safeway, Home Depot, outdoor dinning and protest You can go vote.
NO!!! Voter ID only.
You realize that no voter ID is required in California and many other states, right?
you cannot be serious.. this is so unreal
NO!
No to the question because there is no standard that all states would have to follow.
No.
Democrats always play it this way….
If you can’t win fairly, change the rules.
Let 16 year olds vote.
Let Prison inmates vote.
Let non citizens vote.
No ID required of anyone.
Oh! and don’t let states clean up the voter rolls !
Leave all those dead people and dual registrations be !
There… now go lecture Republicans about fair elections.
Projection, whataboutism and obtuseness about Trump’s great voter fraud lie.
I do, however, agree that allowing 16 year old children to vote is an absurdity.
Exactly Brandi. Democrats are the kids that suck at everything and want to change the rules because it’s not fair they never get the ball. Suck it up buttercup we are voting in person so you can’t cheat. Period
NO
I can’t believe how dum people are…
if you can go to safeway to shop, then you can go vote.
Don’t be hoodwinked
You misspelled “dumb”
Newsom’s Homeless Hotel Project Turnkey will make homeless vote harvesting a snap. Just mail them by the thousands……
If Nancy didn’t see a political advantage to vote by mail she wouldn’t make such a ruckus. And during the DNC Michelle Obama all but outright told people to vote now before you see the debates! No turning back then. Such a dirty business……….
No. Voters have a right to vote and that means casting a ballot NOT mailing a ballot. The latter should be an option for those who, for whatever reason, cannot cast their ballot personally.
There is no “right” to vote in person.
Get over it wipe, nobody thinks all mail in voting is the way to go. This appears to make you quite upset. You’re spamming this site pushing this conspiracy when Dr Fauci and Dr Birx said its perfectly safe to vote in person. There is zero science that says we can’t vote in person. Why are you so against science? We need to follow the science and the health professionals and cast our ballots as we always have, in person.
NO!
Yes. That mail-in voting invites massive voter fraud is a gaslight lie by our profoundly corrupt president Donald Trump. He knows that only way he can win the election is by voter suppression, which is why he is perpetuating the voter fraud lie.
Trump will mop the floor with these dims. Talk about gaslighting. Voter fraud going down all over the country. Where you been. Check out how may people have been arrested and charged lately. Or don’t. Keep living your fantasy that we don’t have the best president this country has ever had
Voter suppression?
Surely you can come up with something better than that.
Tonight he did announce doing away with sanctuary cities. Just that alone could likely win him the election.
Your choice – voting booth or mail. Both are secure with no worries. Big brother knows who you are, where you live and how you sign your name. If you have kicked the bucket, they know that, too.
No, but mail-in voting should be encouraged. There is expected to be a severe shortage of poll workers this year due to the Coronavirus and most poll workers have been elderly and most susceptible to Coronavirus complications.
@IDK
Ya, mail in voter fraud is such and issue that they have already found over 800 ballots that people received and they were dead. So, no I have the right to vote in person, and I will take that right.
yes it is a safeer waay to do i am esstinle worker
Nice. You are an essential worker.
YES.
As long as people vote, I couldn’t care less how their vote is cast. Just vote.
Oh course you need the option to vote in person! However, Trump is going to create havoc and confusion by saying the mail in votes are not valid! Especially when he knows he lost the election. He is a cheat just as his sister the retired judge, said recently. It is worrisome to know Trump is already going to try to mess up our elections. If the Russians won’t f it up old Captain Bonespurs will.
You think he lost voters from the last election? You don’t think he’s gained voters? Everyone I know was an obama/clinton democrat. All voting Trump. Old, young, mostly women. Mass mail in voting has never been done in this country. I find it suspicious you aren’t questioning the validity of it.
The science is settled. We will be voting in person. Dr. Birx and Dr. Fauci have spoken on this and have declared it safe to vote at the polling station. Americans will be showing up to vote like always. Dead cats and criminals will be voting by mail. What are you? Pelosi will never be president of this country.
No mail-in voting, unless there’s special circumstances preventing someone from getting to the polls and they request an absentee ballot. Otherwise, stop making excuses, stop being a bunch of sniveling lazy a$$es and go vote in-person.
Trump wants the Post Office to fail. Trump does not want mail in voting because he is going to lose the election. He wants the Post Office to fail so he can claim the election was rigged. Donald J. Trump is the worst US president ever.
Very intelligent post👍🏼 Thanks for your contribution to this conversation. CPU 8066 account has been credited 50 cents by the DNC please specify if you would like sign up for auto exchange usd to yuan
LoL !
That’s something a 3rd world despot would do.
In-person voting for those without proper medical excuses, outside and with social distancing.
Proof of citizenship / ID should be required for voting.
NO…….although I have been absentee voting for over 15 yrs, I do so because it allows me to study up on different issues that will be on the ballot. Mainly though are the ones in the ‘double-speak’ language that take a lot of checking up on for what I would be really voting on.
I have been late a couple of times getting my absentee ballot back in the mail flow a few times, so then I just go to my polling place and drop my ballot into the ballot box there. No problem.
What about the environmental impact of printing million of ballots many of which will go unused? All while having a paper goods shortage?
All those trees butchered, all that chainsaw fossil fuel and exhaust. Surely anyone who calls themselves an ecologist would object to this.
Voting will be done this election using blockchain technology. It is infallible and no one will have an excuse to complain. The results will be transparent and clear.
I saw the USPS has a patent for something like that.. weird
That’s sure going to upset a lot of liberals.
no.. people should have the option of voting in person
