Contra Costa County Fire Protection District (Con Fire) announced today the arrests of two arson suspects in unrelated vehicle fires that occurred in Antioch and Martinez late last week.
Working with law enforcement partners in Antioch and Martinez, investigators from Con Fire’s Fire Investigation Unit (FIU) investigated and quickly arrested the alleged perpetrators of three intentionally set vehicle fires.
The first fire occurred in Antioch Thursday morning and the second took place later in the early evening hours in Martinez.
“Quick work of our fire investigators in close partnership with local law enforcement agencies has resulted in the removal of two dangerous arsonists from our streets,” said Fire Chief Lewis T. Broschard III, Contra Costa County Fire Protection District. “This is a tremendous example of the importance to community safety of the coordination and partnerships between fire and law enforcement.”
On Aug. 20 at approximately 10 a.m., an FIU investigator responded to a vehicle fire on Auto Center Drive in Antioch. Examining the fire scene and surveillance video, the fire was determined to be intentionally set. Soon thereafter, Antioch Police found the suspect vehicle in Antioch, detaining four subjects. After interviewing the subjects, Lisa St. Onge, 39, was arrested for arson, with Con Fire’s investigator making the arrest and Antioch Police transporting her to the County Detention Facility in Martinez. Onge was charged with one count of Arson to Property.
Later that day, at approximately 6:30 p.m., an FIU investigator again responded to a report of vehicle fires on the shoulder of westbound Highway 4 in Martinez. On scene, California Highway Patrol officers had detained a male subject from one of the two vehicles burned. After investigation of both vehicles, the fires were determined to have been purposefully set. The detained subject, Milan Popich, 39, was arrested for arson by the FIU investigator. CHP transported Popich to the Martinez Detention Facility for booking. Popich was charged with two counts of Arson to Property.
Both suspects have been booked into the Contra Costa County Detention Facility in Martinez where they remain in custody.
RELATED STORY: PHOTO: Woman Wanted for Residential Burglary in Walnut Creek
Look more like 59 in Meth years…
Wow – I’m 60 and I don’t look anywhere near as aged as these two. I also looked at the woman’s photo from 8 years ago (in related story) and at 32 she still looks older than me. The last 8 years really did a number on her.
I call BS on “39 years old”
It’s true, i went to school with her.
WOW – they are only 39!?!?
Drugs – or – Whatever sure doesn’t help the aging process.
39 years young. They look 60…Tweakers
Now that is relay methed up.
Great job Fire and Police.
That’s what they call a Hard 39.
Let’s put them on the newly formed Walnut Creek Social Justice Council.
There must be some mistake, they look like fine upstanding citizens.
Well well now, aren’t they a bundle of hotness, KIDS, DON’T DO DRUGS…
Those two have been burning brain cells
longer than they’ve been torching cars.
Those mugshots should serve as poster inspiration for drug abuse and dissipation. Jack Benny’s “39” sure has them beat!
And that, boys and girls, is why we don’t do drugs!
That’s a rough looking 39, damn.
Wow I went to middle school with her. Haven’t heard that name in years.
Is the 39 age about right then? I can’t believe these people are 39. They look like they are pushing 60.
I didn’t go to middle school with her and I’m glad!!
what year was that 1965 ?
I knew her to. I can confirm the age as well. I wondered what happened to her too.
They will have fun with her in jail as she detoxes and goes through meth withdrawal.
Residemts will hear her screams all over Court St.in Martinez, 🙁
More likely she’ll be sacked out.
@Aunt Barbara, you won’t hear any screams from her at MDF. “E module” stopped housing women years ago. Once booked, she’ll be transported to WCDF in Richmond.
Give her an eight-ball and a wire brush to remove the beautiful “mural” off Court St.
Boy, her Momma must be proud!
anyone want to bet they started the fires to get 3 hots and a cot?
All of these drug addicts should give their stories on how they began their journey to hell. The stories should be put into correct grammar and read to high school students once a week instead of diversity training. Or maybe videos of them with closeups saying how they got started would be better. I can feel sorry for them in a way because although they should have seen what was coming I don’t think they did.
I like the idea of comparing the original version with the cleaned up one. That said, over the years I have lost sympathy for addicts. Having one in the family was a real eye opener.
An addict cannot change. Mainly because a life style change must accompany it. Friends, hobbies, food. Everything. Halfway houses are a good idea, except for the communing with like kind. Plus, hard labor must be included. Picking fruit, growing anything to encourage caretaking. Sweat the poisons out.
Great work Contra Costa County Fire Protection District. Thank you for taking care of this problem for our County. This is an excellent example of why you’re valued.
If you click on the related article there’s a photo of her in 2012. She was none too healthy then, but she looks a good 20 years younger, at least. I get addiction, but I will never understand why anyone would even try that poison. I guess everyone has their limit.
@Silva…..Det. Callahan said it best…..https://youtu.be/CG2cux_6Rcw
A correction is in order here!!!
That’s Inspector Callahan.

my 86-year-old Grandmother looks better than she does!
Meth is a helluva drug!!!
Good god Lisa, get them damn dentures and start acting your age!
That is a really rough looking 39. Just say no to drugs.
Since 1980s antioch has really gone down hill. Result of poor decisions made by city managers, city councils and mayors.
Look up crime stats for antioch, . . . . . dismal.
Lisa – Talk about a face that would stop a clock!
That looks like a face that stopped a shovel.
Just sayin’
She’s a repeat criminal. Keep her off the streets! That’s what jails and prisons are for.
