Yes

Are you referring to intelligent life?
Sometimes it seems like we’re still
searching for it on Earth.

Ha, Ha, Politics aside I think many would agree.

Personally, the crop circles, which I have been reading about for years, and, in fact, have a fistful of beautiful books about, convince me there are other forms of life in the universe. Frankly, it stands to reason that life outside our planet exists, and, apparently they are communicating with us through the crop circles. What is especially interesting is that they have actually given us a number of messages through the circles which indicate not only higher intelligence but an obvious reluctance to contact us directly. I don’t blame them. Are we a species that demonstrates higher values? That proves to the universe that we are ready to communicate on a higher level? The human race is a mess in its every aspect. It is a sad, pathetic lot that disgraces itself in every quarter. Ever since college I have been stuck in the Italian Renaissance because at no time in human history has so much greatness been shown, a greatness that has never been exhibited anywhere in human existence. Yet, that greatness came out of abject horror, a horror that even overshadows the horror of today’s world. We wonder why tragedy occurs, why suffering exists. All we have to do is look at ourselves, the way we behave, the petty, absurd things we do, in short, the negative energy we produce daily, polluting the world with it, never understanding that it comes right back in the darkness of existence that is so much a part of creation. The crop circles show us an incredible beauty and reason that defies how we live, dares us to rise above our miserable existence to achieve a higher level of thinking and doing. I don’t blame their creators for ignoring us. I think it’s a miracle they even care enough to reach out to us the way they have.

I find the question amusing, but I have no idea if there are any “side projects.”

Yes- Just the other day I was over in San Francisco and I saw many different live specimens roaming about.

Well,…if we can travel to the Moon, then we might also have had visitor come to Earth. Can we be the only life form?,…more than likely there is something else besides us.

Yes and yes. Not only that but I believe there are sites on earth that humans were incapable of building. There is another thing that has always made me wonder about and that is why all parts of the disconnected parts of the world had Gods. Why did they have a concept of god. The other thing is why did all disconnected parts of the world build pyramids. There is a lot of interesting things that went on tens of thousands of years ago on earth that are just unexplainable with what we are told of history.

nope

Yes. I actually live on another planet. Its called California. It’s filled with strange beings that cannot reason.

Yes, I think you would have to be very narrow minded to think that we were the only life out in the universe.

It would be a statistical impossibility for there to NOT be life in the trillions on planets in the universe. Intelligent life, eh? Who can say! We barely have perceptibly intelligent life on this planet, to other life in the universe, we may be the equivalent of amoebas.

Yes!

Given the statistical probabilities, yes.

Yes… and she somehow was elected and became Speaker of the House. Ha!

In the universe there are a hundred billion galaxies that we know of. Some even say there are two hundred billion, and this is only what we know about. No one knows how big the universe is or even if it has an edge or an end, it may go on forever. In those galaxies are hundreds of thousands of stars. If a star has a solar system it is a sun, and those solar systems consist of planets. Some of those planets support life and some may also support animal and human life. I would guess there are millions, maybe even billions of Earth like planets. Some may be smaller and some may be larger, but I believe there is human life on a lot of them.
Interesting reading is, Chariots of the Gods, by Erich Von Daniken.
Von Daniken explores the possibility that Earth has been visited by beings from another planet and presents evidence and theory explaining his findings.

It’s a big galaxy we are in with a universe of unimaginable vastness. Life in some form, yes. Intelligent life, hope so. I don’t think humans are especially intelligent, just look at our stupid politics! When neither party can select someone with leadership, intellect, and integrity. Since I was a kid and saw, “The Day the Earth Stood Still,” I was thinking how nice it would be for a superior being to set us right.

They would set us right, by vaping us all into dust and starting over. We are a mess, no fixing this. I am sure they have better things to do.

Well if aliens did visit here they did not leave any litter like we do everywhere we go. In other words, leave some proof.

It is out there in plain sight.

Yes, and on their home planet is an extremely dense, fulminating element called pelosium. Touching it causes severe cognitive disorders in humans;)

I’m sure life, possibly in a form humans wouldn’t recognize as such does exist somewhere in the Universe, maybe even in our own galaxy. I don’t think humans in the form that exists now will ever detect it. Perhaps if our descendants, whatever we evolve into, learn interdimensional (time) travel, paths might cross at some point.
I’ve been a si-fy fan since I was old enough to read.

Yes!

I use to be an atheist, but decided it was too narrow minded, so I changed to become an agnostic. I have no proof that God exists, nor do I have proof that he/she does not. I know when I visit Yosemite and look up at Half Dome, and hike to the top of Yosemite Falls, or half way to Half Dome, or walk with friends in the moonlight and look up at El Capitan or Half Dome, I definitely feel there is more to this world than I can explain. I feel the same way about life on other planets, don’t know for sure, but cannot rule it out. I’m an avid reader, but was never into science fiction, or even books that seem to have proof, so I can’t say I’m well versed on the subject. Not a very definitive answer, but the best I can come up with.

Richard Dawkins coined the term “Pragmatic Agnostic”, which he then referred to as an academic discussion. He was an interesting guy.

I’m starting not to believe in life on this planet.

No. The Bible explains clearly that man on earth is the pinnacle and purpose of His Creation. If we were just an insignificant speck of dust in an unfathomably vast and complex universe of life, I’m sure he would have brought it up.

I see it differently. I think religion and space travel are connected and god never said there are no other kingdoms, that is just an interpretation. Why would God have brought up something that wouldn’t have been understood at the time? Seems there was enough to swallow without that info.

I read the book of Enoch was part of the Bible but was removed and it talked about extra terrestrials.

@Garden Girl…. wait, are you suggesting that the Bible has had sections and passages added and subtracted to satisfy the whims of various constituencies over the years? Mind officially blown. I’d thought it was a holy book written by God. Now that I think about it, that actually makes way more sense. Some of those parts are… odd? I’d always wondered why a supreme being wasn’t a better writer.

I believe there is intelligent life elsewhere in the universe. I also believe there is little or no chance we will ever have evidence of it because other solar systems are too far away.

Yes yes yes. We are going to Mars to look for evidence of past civilizations. Which means our government knows there was life on Mars. I believe, who we believe was God or a God was really an Alien who the Bible quoted as saying, I will create man in our image. Not in my image but in our image. Who is the our? Other Aliens of course.

Yes I believe there is life on other planers, intelligent and otherwise.

Yes I believe other intelligent beings have visited earth in search of intelligent life and left wanting.

Many of the people on this tiny blue marbel in space are bent on self destruction.

I keep wondering if Earth was once a prison planet for the criminally insane and other world outcasts.

Anything that happens once will happen again. There is no question that there is life elsewhere in our universe. I’m of the belief that they are here and have been for a long time.

As an avid sci-fi fan, I have come to believe there is life out there. Why would they want to come here these days? Planet is a mess and getting messier.

I believe that there is life on other planets. Have they visited earth? No doubt. However, they witnessed how things on this planet are in chaos and turned around and left. Wanted no part of it!

Visited earth, YUP.
Roddenberry had interesting way of looking at things.

From Star Trek: The Next Generation TV show 26 Apr, 1993.
Season 6 Episode 20. ‘The Chase’
Episode directed by Jonathan Frakes (Cmdr. William Riker)

Dialog from video below, 0:30
“You’re wondering who we are, why we have done this, how it has come that I stand before you, the image of a being
from so long ago. Life evolved on my planet before all others in this part of the galaxy. We left our world, explored the stars, and found none like ourselves. Our civilization thrived for ages, but what is the life of one race, compared to the vast stretches of cosmic time? We knew that one day we would be gone, that nothing of us would survive. So, we left you.

Our scientists seeded the primordial oceans of many worlds, where life was in its infancy. The seed codes directed your evolution toward a physical form resembling ours. This body you see before you, which is, of course, shaped as yours is shaped, for you are the end result. The seed codes also contained this message, which we scattered in fragments on many different worlds. It was our hope that you would have to come together in fellowship and companionship to hear this message. And if you can see and hear me, our hope has been fulfilled. You are a monument, not to our greatness, but to our existence. That was our wish, that you too would know life, and would keep alive our memory. There is something of us in each of you, and so, something of you in each other. Remember us.”

I vaguely remember that scene.

I believe that was also the plot and theme of the 1994 Stargate movie and later TV show that humans had been seeded about the galaxy to be used as slave labor by the aliens. On earth, there was a revolt and the stargate transporter for the aliens to get to earth was buried to keep them out. A few unfortunate of the aliens when attempting to get to earth transported themselves into solid dirt.

I surely hope so!

Might I remind you what happened to Cartman.

Yes, there is life on other planets. And if there is intelligent life, it’s avoiding this planet like the plague. No species worrth its salt would expend massive amounts of resources to visit us. We’re not worth it. Not yet, anyway.

So many negative comments on this thread. As posted earlier, not sure about life on another planet, not ruling it out. However, I do feel positive about life on this earth, despite the problems we are having, no nation, state, political party is perfect. I think we need to be thankful for what we have. A beautiful state, with many beautiful places, as for the country, each state has something beautiful to offer. As someone who has dealt with the public for years, all I can say is there are many kind, considerate and honest people no matter where you live. America is my adopted country, and although I have at time been critical of the US, and still am, I have always marveled at how positive American’s are, how they have the grit to move on and re-invent themselves. Lets look at the glass half full instead of half empty.

Let’s hope they don’t visit this year, 2020 is an embarrassment.

No. I don’t believe there is life on another planet. The belief that there is life on another planet falls within the category of folklore and myth much the same as Big Foot, Sasquatch, or any other fantastical storyline serving as a form of escapism … among other things.

How can anybody believe we are the only planet with life on it? How self centered and small minded is that? As vast as the universe is to think no life out there?? The answer is absolutely yes!! I think that Is the most logical answer.

How can anybody be so ignorant as to think there is life on other planets? If they didn’t think that, it might require them to treat the Earth like the unique, exceptional, and one-of-a-kind system it really is. But, go ahead and run roughshod over it, and everybody in it … because, if you had to leave Earth, you might find another planet elsewhere to live on. You may have seen it in a sci-fi movie and believed it! Do you think movies don’t influence your beliefs? it’s mythology! MYTH!

Right now I’m having trouble believing in the life on this planet🙃

If you don’t think there is life on other planets you will just have to wait until we’ve traveled to the very end of the entire universe and find the big wall encircling everything that exists and a sign that say’s “END”.

Then we can look at the list of billions of planets we checked for signs of life.

At that time the official search for life spokesperson can declare “We searched every planet there is… billions of ’em and the only life we found is on our very own little Earth”.

Yep!

That will happen.

I certainly do having seen a UFO as low as a helicopter with no noise over Clayton road and surrounding suburbs stop it immediately go backwards and then start moving like a falling leaf down towards the ground in 2004

If you are referring to intelligent life then I stand on the Fermi Paradox.

Simple life, then probably.
