No, thank you.

Nope

Of course! It takes the entire Village to stop the spread.

Unsolicited gov controlled questions

Nope

But I am sure
Der fuerer newscum Will wend his shock troops to those who don’t

Let’s see how it plays out

No. Any information you provide has no privacy protection. I also keep the GPS turned off on my phone for privacy purposes, and that practice started before COVID.

Besides, if many, if not most, COVID test results are now taking 2 weeks to return, isn’t contact tracing essentially worthless given the time lag? I recently read an article that stated for contact tracing to be beneficial, test results need to come within 2-3 days.

Hell to the NO

It’s not possible for someone to contact me unless I have asked for them to contact me. I dont answer my front door unless I see one of neighbors standing there and I don’t answer my cell phone unless it’s a number I recognize or they leave a message I feel like returning. Any message left sounding generic gets deleted 2 seconds in.

Lets see, you download Apps to you’re phone and go on Facebook and other social media that you’ve basically given permission to access all of you’re personal private information but you wont give the information that could save lives and help end this pandemic. We have 4% of the worlds population and 24% of the worlds infections. Were rapidly becoming the stupidest country in the world.

Agree why share any info with anyone? I mean it’s my life to live, I don’t worry about other’s around me. Those parents that created me, they’re on their own, the checker at the grocery store that had was a great conversationalist, sorry to hear your child is a chronic asthmatic but my personal life isn’t your business. My brothers/sisters, sorry your sick but you don’t need to know where I was or when I was there. FREEDOM ABOVE ALL ELSE well at least until we’re all dead….but hey freedom in the grave will be all important I am sure.

“Give me liberty or give me death.”

Remember when that actually meant something in this country?

Not of hand, but how much do they pay for the information? Then i may be able to give it up if i get paid.

I learned a long time ago to keep my mouth shut. The less I say, the better off I will be. Anything I say can someday come back and bite me, especially to a government agent.
My Motto: Never volunteer any information and make no apologies.

I will not give them any information.

Five months in and these clowns can’t even test the majority of us.

Between the evil dems who will milk this catastrophe right up to the election and our incompetent, useless government …

we’re screwed.

No

I would be surprised to be contacted because I’ve been staying home and go out for garbage, mail, and groceries. I would like a test, but not up my nose.

I would share the way out with them …

I do not even give me name unless I feel the need to do so.

Of course. Other people count on us to help save them.

Just put them on the do not call list LOL

No.

Yes, but I don’t have anything to tell them. Aside from vague, “I had dinner here, I bought groceries there,” I don’t have any useful information. My social life is my hubs and the dentist’s office since the lockdiwn started.

One word here for all you freaking out about getting tracked…do you understand what a MAC Address and IP address are? Pretty easy to be tracked. Do you use a cell phone? Do you pay with a credit card? Get US Mail? Folks they know where you are either way,..answering a simple phone call notifying you that someone you were around might have CV19 isn’t a huge deal, gives you a chance to isolate and possibly warn those around you that have health issues they should be parpred.

Requires Bluetooth on the phone to be on.

Not to mention license plate readers and a bazillion security cameras.
I’m not doing anything shady, so yes, I’ll share my whereabouts within the context of the tracing questions. I’ll be helping my community and the economy by doing so. You’re welcome.

@captain not sure what BT has to do with anything….but not related to knowing where a cell phone is. Cell towers and GPS do that. Your cell phi e ID pings the tower saying it’s your phone. Your is on, it’s checking in with cell towers for location.

Your “rewards program” tells whoever is collecting the information what you’re eating, how much gasoline you’re using, what kind of computer and printer you use, what office supplies you buy, what kind of pets you have and approximately how many, etc. etc., etc. But, you’re credit card “rewards program knows the most because they are collecting information on all your purchases. Your airline “rewards program” knows where you go. Put it all together, and it is doubtful you have even one private moment.

@The REAL, the tracer apps are open source and I’ve downloaded the source to three of them and looked through the code. It’s well know in the mobile software development industry that the apps depend on Bluetooth. The framework is already on your smart phone but you have download an actual tracer app.

I see the propensity for scam tracer calls. This was not thought through very well and probably designed by health “officials” who aren’t tech savvy. Why Apple and Google didn’t point this out is strange but then I’m not impressed with their management either.

The FTC does have information about the possibility of scam calls involving tracing:

A lolwut?

No, but I would wave goodbye to them as my dogs chased them off our property.

Sure, it would be: “I’ve been to Costco, Lucky’s, and Whole Foods. And I’ve walked around the neighborhood, Newhall Park, and Lime Ridge. And I swam in our HOA pool. Who named me as a contact and will you be contacting all the people at the locations I just gave?” That just about sums up My Life in the Time of Covid.

People in this thread want to pretend their lives are more interesting than they really are. The Contact Tracers aren’t looking for the secret rebel base, you want to pretend like you are part of. They will ask simple questions about having been to certain stores, parks or other basic locations. If a Contact Tracer suspects you may have been at a Covid hotspot, why wouldn’t you help out? Not only could benefit your health, but also the health of people you know.

For the person with the handle “America”, it certainly is against the law to have your dogs attack government officials such as Health Department employees. It doesn’t matter if they go onto your property. Not only would you be at risk of arrest, but you would put your dogs at risk of being taken away from you. You cannot assault or threaten Contact Tracers, just like you cannot threaten Census Takers.

Thank you Natalie for your brilliant way of being thoughtful and concise about educating people who are really fearful. Contact Tracing is an important tool to help mitigate COVID-19 by identifying where it was to where it is!

Natalie, Finally an informed response. Thank you.

I would gladly point them in the direction of the nearest hotspot, where they can interview the protesters directly.

No. You’re either going to get it or not. No need to follow up.

This is not about you it is to help others that could be infected!

@ Mary Fouts August

No. Any information you provide has no privacy protection. I also keep the GPS turned off on my phone for privacy purposes, and that practice started before COVID.

Mary, I am sorry to inform you that your GPS does not have to be turned on for people too track your phone. Much like when you dial the police department or 911 they can ping your phone instantly too know where you are calling from or when dial a 1-800 number, and they can see your phone number. The only way they can’t track you by your phone is if you put it in an enclosed Mylar bag or wrap it in a double layer of heavy-duty tinfoil but do not use aluminum foil because your GPS is traceable/trackable through aluminum foil even when your phones power is off. Your best if you do not want to be tracked by your GPS coordinates is to use either of the above mentioned solutions but that is still not 100% the only ways your phones GPS is untraceable is to either smash it with a hammer or take the battery out of it and use a burner phone.
(this is 100% the truth).
Duck

@Natalie, Well said see you at the pool tomorrow.
I don’t give personal info to anybody if they want to track me so be it but I’m not going to offer up anything I don’t want to offer up. Our Government is overreaching enough of our freedoms already and spitting the C-19 crap in our faces enough is enough.

Yes, I fly the Gadsden flag and I fly it proudly.
Duck.

No as my data is personal to myself. Enough of government tracking us.

Nope.

I know where I’ve been; I know with whom I’ve had contact; I know their health; I know who I can trust. NONE of them have EVER been tested positive.

I’ll worry about my family/friends/acquaintances and take the appropriate precautions/actions. I don’t need some inept government bureaucracy “watching out for me.”

Good grief – people need to take some responsibility for your own actions.

Absolutely NOT! Unless your a big kool aid drinker then by all means continue the fear porn.

Can’t wait to read how you guys and gals told the Census people — soon to arrive on your doorstep — Hell no, Census!

[Sigh]

Get a grip, folks. Your health and your loved ones’ health are at stake if you’re contacted. Answer truthfully.

I already informed the census people by mail that it’s none of their business.
