It looks as though the two tables above are identical. The one on top would need to be updated for today, Friday, July 24, 2020. Thanks

Is the average high because people think they are sick so they get the test taken.

2,324 tests were conducted yesterday in Contra Costa County. The seven day positive average is 6.3%.

@Ricardoh – One good thing, I believe the positive results percentage has decreased somewhat recently. Clearly there is more testing being done. Some of that is not because people feel sick, but rather because it is required for some other reason: by employer, prior to having a medical or dental procedure done, or due to possible exposure to someone who tested positive to COVID-19. Mary

1170 active cases yesterday
1136 today
Not sure how they know that but active case news numbers going down is good news
1.5 million population with only 1136 with active cases

Absolutely. Unrecovered is what matters. I would prefer the 1136 number be in the largest font most emphasized showing trends of improvement and lowered death rate from total cases of UNRECOVERED. Those numbers are more than a tad more important than cumulative numbers when inquiring what is relevant to folks imho. Am I the only one that finds it odd we focus on cumulative numbers going back to March instead (totals including recovered folks no longer sick)?

It’s a game. They are trying to project a high score. They think the higher the number, the better the chance trump will lose. Democrats are like children in their thinking. Nothing can stop what’s coming.

Of course Sam puts it as political…. Sad. You say Democrats are like children yet you’re complaining. Hypocritical don’t you think?

Puffandstuff. Sorry but you can’t say 1.5 million population with only 1136 cases. Over a million people have NOT caught it yet so you can’t add them into the numbers. You do understand that 6627 people have been CONFIRMED right?

@me Textbook childish response. Avoiding the reason I call them children and proceeding to gaslight. Hypocritical has a meaning, it’s not just a word that means whatever you want at the moment.

How many of those positives or either asymptotic or the same persons second positive test? The same person who tests positive again on a retest shouldn’t be a new case. It’s the same case until they test negative. Instead each time they test positive, they treat it as a new case

So we can all manage life a little better I wish the County would tell us for our 6627 cases how they think that person got the virus! Travel, at work, from family member, at a party, at a protest, at church, whatever. I suspect about 6000 of them would be Under Investigation ……..

Just curious about death numbers. Saw a recent breakout. Out of 103 deaths, more than 75% are people 60 and over and most of the deaths of people over 90. Seems to me the country shouldn’t have been shut down, but, tighter safety measures should have been/should be in place for the elderly. Numbers don’t support the lockdown status in contra costa.
