A suspect confronted by residents who discovered him in their backyard was arrested early Sunday morning, Pleasant Hill police said.
Police responded to the Gregory Gardens neighborhood, determined a garage had been burgled and that several other garages had also been entered.
A suspect was located, positively identified, arrested and booked into county jail in Martinez.
Taking wild guesses here, already on probation or parole and has chemical dependency issues.
Well, if it’s a guessing game. My guess is that after going through the jail turnstile, he was quickly released due to covid danger. (After all, he’s non-violent)
Or, has a mental disorder, which makes him angry and entitled. Please, voters, lobby to change the mental health laws. Believe me, it’s not like this in the other 49 states, or anywhere else in the world….😢
Lets see some face.
By the look of those clothes, he was clearly coming down from the mountains to replenish his supplies. And get meth.
Good job P H PD. Like to see more of this.
But I thought they already convicted the East Area Rapist.
Homelessness will drive MEN to do stupid things to stay alive. Compounded with the other problems…….What can we do as a people to help. All WE do is look the other way and expect others to fix it. The next homeless person you see, reach out and ask “Can i help”. Know resources and community to lead them, not to label them. We all need compassion and Hope.
If you ask him “can I help” he will say “give me money” any other offer will be rejected.
15k hotel rooms available, what else can we do. These people are not homeless, they are street people. They prefer to live on the street.
Great job Gregory Garden residents and PHPD!
As an aside, I feel so sorry for our first responders in today’s COVID-19 environment. Looking at that photo reminds me that these brave people have no choice but to be in close contact with people at times, and in unsavory conditions. I suppose you have to assume that everyone you come into close contact with on the job has COVID-19. How terribly nerve wracking.
Hummm, the guesses of: Homeless? Mental Illness? Addiction?
The Police should never have went on this call for help.
The Unarmed Social Responder Department should have responded.

Send a health worker to reach out to assist someone in trouble, and
make sure the worker wears a cam. It’s time for a new TV show to replace Live PD. Call it Help! Live. I would want to see how the unarmed representative handles the situation when it goes bad. And it will.
This is quite scary….could have ended up much worse than the intruder getting caught.
Too much leniency given to criminals which allows them to enter/exit your home as they please like regular family members.
Time for California to abandon the “snowflake clause” allowing people to be exonerated due to mental issues.
Why was he placed in jail while we are releasing criminals who have committed violent crimes?
Exactly…5150 or if he’s a a regular, 5250,. He’s ill
And suffering. This isn’t funny… it’s inhumane – unbelievable.
These souls are suffering, their families are suffering and society is
Is being terrorized and this forum is being snarky?
Why not show this creep’s face?
