There has been two more deaths in two days plus the number of active cases continues to climb despite that testing has remained roughly level. See the top chart on https://imgur.com/a/RSQK6hP

The blue lines are active cases and red lines are number of tests per day. Before, the climb in active cases was explained as that the testing numbers were increasing. Now it appears there is a real increase in the number of active cases.

So are these ‘active cases’ sick or just tested ‘positive’. And why after weeks of no more deaths is an increase of 2 a relevant issue ?

The active cases are those that have tested positive within the last 14 days. Thus it’s everyone the county has confirmed via testing, including asymptomatic cases. If a person is hospitalized they are kept on the “active case” list until discharge.

I use the active cases number to estimate the chances that someone you bump into at a grocery store or whatever is contagious. At present the odds are one in 2500 that someone you bump into is contagious. I can detail the math on this if anyone is interested.

I had highlighted two deaths in two days as there had been recent instances of the county reporting and then retracting deaths from COVID-19. Plus it was interesting to me in that though we had occasional deaths in May we never had them on consecutive days.

Why are you claiming 1359 people have FULLY recovered. Many are going to have substantial permanent respiratory complications.

I have known a couple of folks who tested positive, and they do not have any permanent respiratory complications. That is not a common event … so, let’s be real here. I have no data to support the next statement, but my gut, but I cannot believe more than a couple of people out of the ~1400 will have permanent complications. And more than likely, they have preexisting complications … so again, lets be real here.

Pneumonia does leave your lungs in a damaged state, but not everyone gets pneumonia from this. The permanent damage I have read about is from being on a ventilator. But of course they are still learning about this bug.

Bay Point, El Sobrante, San Pablo and Richmond.

Outbreak!

as of 06/08:

1,706 confirmed cases in CCC with 40 deaths = 2.34% death rate.

38 new cases in CCC = 2.3% increase from day before.

This climb suspiciously coincides with the protesting.
