Starting at 9:12 p.m. this evening, the International Space Station can be viewed over the Concord (and surrounding) area at a maximum height of 51 degrees (keeping in mind that 90 degrees is straight up).
It will appear in the West/North/West… moving in the direction of the South/South/East.. visible for four minutes.
There are currently three American astronauts and two Russian cosmonauts on board.
The ISS is approximately the size of an American football field.
More info can be found at SpotTheStation.nasa.gov where you can also sign up for viewing alerts.
Thanks to Carol for the information!
Yea! a clear night and the sun just over the horizon
I’ve seen it the last 3 nights in a row. However, at 17,000 mph it moves quickly!
Will it be passing by tomorrow? I was just out there watching it and yes, it went by fast, but I really enjoyed it.

Thank you for the info. We saw it a few months ago fly overhead and it was magical. I’ll be saying a warm hello to Bob and Doug as it flies by and salute their amazing launch and accomplishments for all mankind.
Thank you Mayor, it’s a nice break from the action.
Former Concord resident Cory Timmons is Sr. Propulsion Engineer at Space X and was in the room and on the National live video feed during the Space X launch on Saturday. So cool!!
Get the Night Sky app. It sends alerts for flyovers. Also identifies planets, constellations and other objects. It’s free. Been following ISS off & on with this app for well over a year.
can they see America on fire?
Well played sir 🙂
Last summer there were several photos from space of the planet on fire, especially Australia
@ me
Way to put a negative spin on such a
positive remarkable accomplishment.
There it goes! Pretty cool! Thanks for the heads up
Thank you! It was right on time!
Just watched the flyover! Awesome! Thanks for the heads up!
Thanks Carol and Claycord for the info. That was very cool to watch! Got a couple neighbors in on the action too
We just saw the space station over Concord! Super cool to see!
That was cool, thank you.
We just watched it go over. A nice diversion from the daily BS.
The reviews online said “snarky”. But I am fully enjoying the show “space force” on Netflix featuring Steve Carell and John Malkovich
Just saw it zoom over PH, totally clear for the kids to see!
Pretty cool, now i have seen a space shuttle launch, a space shuttle in orbit and now the space station. Just look up and you can see awesome things.
Very cool!!! I used Sky View Lite app.
Didn’t see it, plus it’s traveling at 4.75 miles per second. Thinking moon in east was too much light along with twilight. Another URL that might be worth book marking.
Can find satellites by type, country etc.

Thanks for posting this Claycord. Watched space station fly over and past the almost full moon at 9:12. Very cool!
Go dragon
Such a treat!!! Loved watching this with my sweetie. Thanks Claycord!
At first I thought it was a star….so, I made a wish! When I opened my eyes, it had moved!!! Thought I was seeing things so I sat outside and watched my “star” move across the sky!! Pretty cool!
Thanks Carol for the heads up, in more ways than one! Had a couple nights viewing a great Space Station show!
Former Concord resident and Concord High Valedictorian 2010, Andy Renwick, is a flight controller for the ISS at the Johnson Space Center in Houston, TX and is “on console” today.
So that’s at least two from Concord that have a hand in this.
My app says 16 degrees and it’s usually pretty accurate
Something else to shoot at.
