East Bay Regional Park District Reminds Visitors To Follow Park Rules Memorial Day Weekend

The East Bay Regional Park District has launched a new series of Public Service Announcements (PSAs) in conjunction with the Alameda County Public Health Department and Contra Costa County Department of Health.

The new PSAs stress the importance of parks to public health and wellness and remind visitors to practice social distancing, wear a face-covering within six feet of others, and to visit parks close to their home.

“Parks play an important role in people’s lives,” said East Bay Regional Park District Board President Ellen Corbett. “Fresh air, open space and a little exercise is important to maintain peace of mind during the ongoing Shelter in Place.”

State and local “Stay-at-Home” orders allow for “outdoor recreation activities” as an “essential activity” as long as social distancing is followed.

Due to COVID-19, all water access is closed this Memorial Day weekend. Available activities include walking, hiking, biking, horseback riding, and fishing from shore or by pier.

Other rules include:

  • No picnicking, barbequing, or gatherings
  • No swimming, boating or camping
  • Stay local and visit parks close to home
  • Parking lots in some parks are expected to reach capacity early
  • Dogs need to be on leash at all times

Visitors should also be aware that if a parking lot is full, they should consider going to another park or walking around their neighborhood, the park district said.

NO BBQ???

So if I pack a lunch and take it to an EBRPD park and eat it, I’m going to get or spread coronavirus? What idiot came up with that load of excrement?

Please please let the people in California enjoy life, thanking you in advance.

Exactly!- It is just our government wanting to control us..

or else

No this no that.

Stay at home.

Do this, do that.

Enough of this stuff.

Open up everything now.

Open up and croak! Your choice.

So you must not drive, because there is risk of death….. don’t ever leave your house….. ooops…. you can even accidentally die in your home. Over 80 % that get COVID don’t have bad symptoms. Another 10% get sicker, but don’t need hospitalization, and so on. The death rate is actually quite low.

People die of The Flu every year, and we don’t shut down our economy for this. This is about 3 things. Vaccines, trying to stop Trump, and Federal money for states like CA who don’t have the money to fund their pensions ( they are looking for a bail out).

Turn off the news!!!!

Comments are turned off on YouTube lol

Other rules include:
No fun
No enjoying yourself
No picnicking, barbequing, or gatherings
No swimming, boating or camping
Stay local and visit parks close to home
Parking lots in some parks are expected to reach capacity early
Dogs need to be on leash at all times

And be sure to show your papers when asked. If not off to the cooler.

no sneezing, coughing or talking to anyone… Anti social wins the COVA game. Everyone will be angry when you ge twithin their 41/2 ft space, so be vigilent or you could ridiculed, punched, or lose your life if they just got out of prison…. Good luck!

Yes kiddies! Be sure to listen to daddy government or you’ll be sent to your room…..father knows best.

BTW, Thrilled to see everyone out and about
….Actions speak louder than words.
And for those of you afraid = STAY HOME, We don’t care.

Los Lobos Bite.

FROM THE 24K DESK OF GAVIN:

No travel but I can fly to Montana.
No jobs for anyone but let the illegals disturb everyone working and schooling from home with their gas machinery–even though I’m all for doing something about climate change I’m gonna brush this under the rug.
No restaurants open except my Napa PlumpJack.
No haircuts except my greasy gray coif.
No sex except all that I have on the sly when Jennifer’s not looking.
And please don’t ask me any questions or protest, I am king.

I may never need to go anywhere again now that I’ve discovered my soulmates:

“Gavin Nuisance, Newscum, Mr. New World Order, Gavin-19, Grease Police, The Gavs and Gav Nots”

Keep ’em coming, you folks are the only ones making this quarantine bearable..Thank you!!!!!

I like Gavin-19. Did he catch it in San Francisco?

The CDC just reported the overall infection fatality rate (IFR) is just 0.26%.

It’s nowhere close to what the WHO is reporting, at least in the US.

It’s time to open up 100% and hold our “leaders” accountable for the damage they caused our economy and our people.

Exactly correct. Here is the CDC study referenced in case anyone wants to see the data. Table starts bottom of page 4:

https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/hcp/planning-scenarios-h.pdf

You mean the same CDC that released tests that didn’t work at the start of all this?

LOL – yeah – I’ll pass.

Yeah, I think 0.26% is possibly too low. But it might be not that far off. Marc Lipsitch, a Harvard epidemiologist and very mainstream, Trump-critical, etc., but also pretty realistic about the improbability of suppressing the virus, says this:

“I think it’s clearly under, say, one and a half percent, and it’s very likely under 1%. It’s clearly above 0.2% and probably above 0.4%. So I think if I really had to cover all my bases, I would say between 0.2 and 1.5, but I would put most of my money in the intermediate range.

I think one of the challenges is that it’s so variable by your risk factors, that a little bit of unrepresentativeness in the sampling of cases can translate into a really wrong inference about the death rate.”

Spain has done the largest serology study (to find out how many true infections there were) so far, and their IFR result overall was about 1.1%. That might be adjusted down to fit the US population, as we are a younger country, but on the other hand we don’t have the world’s healthiest population either. But there are other similar studies that have yielded lower numbers. But it pretty much can’t be less than 0.15% because otherwise more than 100% of NYC would have had to be infected.

🙂 🙂 🙂

Reminds me of this old SNL skit: Happy Fun Ball. https://youtu.be/tR-qQcNT_fY

Your link sucks.Maybe this one will work.

Thanks! I mistakenly copied a link from a list I was doing of my least favorite songs.

In other words, Have Fun!!!

Blah, blah, blah. What a farce. Biggest joke pulled on humanity.

@ZZ – you think it’s a joke? Tell that to the people who have been treating patients….

This just in: Russian River was pack with folks drinking their way don the river on their favorite floatation device, with mask and suit optional by the looks of it. Armstrong State Park was packed. We couldn’t have a picnic, so we ate our lunch in the car. I feel so much safer now*

*insert ironic or P.O.’d inflection here.

yeah but did ya catcha trout ?
