Gavin Newsome says it will be a long time for California to open back up because he is concerned about a third wave of the virus now?
Time for him to go.

There won’t be anything resembling a healthy economy by the time Governor Gavin decides to “allow” reopening.

Still not wearing a mask.

Sam, will you wear a mask?

For Halloween yes

I want to wear a Lone Ranger mask! I can just imagine the comments.

So why isn’t Contra Costa County opening up?! Santa Clara County and SF County have way more cases and they opened up today.

Recently someone asked on Claycord about where the current cases are coming from and wondered if most of them are from assisted living and nursing home facilities. I realized we have that data here in Claycord but now can’t find the thread with the person’s question.

On 5/12/2020 I posted a table summarizing the number of cases and deaths by age group.

Here is an update to the table that also lets us see that the new cases seem to be in the community and not the assisted living and nursing home facilities.

Under 20: 0 deaths out of 81 cases.
Age 21-30: 0 deaths out of 177 cases.
Age 31-40: 0 deaths out of 185 cases.
Age 41-50: 0 deaths out of 203 cases.
Age 51-60: 3 deaths out of 211 cases which is a 1.5% death rate.
Age 61-70: 6 deaths out of 138 cases which is a 4.3% death rate.
Age 71-80: 4 deaths out of 81 cases which is a 5.1% death rate.
Age 81-90: 10 deaths out of 50 cases which is a 18.4% death rate.
Over 90: 10 deaths out of 28 cases which is a 37.0% death rate.
Total: 33 deaths out of 1154 cases which is a 3.0% death rate.

The total cases is still one less than the county’s total. I suspect there is one case where the county does not know the person’s age.

Only one person has died since 5/12/2020. That person was in the age 81-90 group. May he or she rest in peace.

Here are the increases in the number of cases by age group
Under 20: 12 new cases or 13.5% of the total increase.
Age 21-30: 12 new cases or 13.5% of the total increase.
Age 31-40: 23 new cases or 25.8% of the total increase.
Age 41-50: 26 new cases or 29.2% of the total increase.
Age 51-60: 11 new cases or 12.4% of the total increase.
Age 61-70: 0 new cases or 0.0% of the total increase.
Age 71-80: 3 new cases or 3.4% of the total increase.
Age 81-90: 1 new case or 1.1% of the total increase. There was one new death in this age group.
Over 90: 1 new case or 1.1% of the total increase.
Total: 89 new cases since 5/12/2020

People in the 61-70 age group seem to be taking SIP seriously.

.00003% of Contra Cost Residents died from the virus. That’s the number !

Our local government is a total failure.

They are the ones that are keeping us down! Not Washington D.C.

The mayors, supervisors, health department AND law enforcement.

YES I SAID IT !

None of those that took an oath to uphold the Constitution meant it.

Where are all the mayors, supes and police chiefs / law enforcement defending our civil liberties?

Where are the press conferences? Why are they all hiding behind a health dept. director, who is hiding behind 6 others?

“Residents are still required by health order to stay home as much as possible, wear face coverings when they leave home” – ILLEGAL ORDER !

“Stores may not display merchandise for sale on tables or otherwise outside the stores. Customers may not enter the store or interior of any indoor shopping mall.” ILLEGAL ORDER !

It is not legal to confine us to our homes under any circumstances. Period.

It is not legal to shut our businesses down. Period.

It is outrageous to let big stores remain open and close small stores.

The politicians have once again, illegally given an agency the authority to pass law (The Health Dept. calls it policy).

This is straight up bullsh*t.

You have all given up your precious freedom by blindly complying.

Patriot- Exactly!! Look at the guy claycord just posted video.. looks like a Fauci clone. Are we actually people actually taking orders from this guy?? Lol OPEN it up NOW

Press Release
Contra Costa County to Begin Allowing Curbside Retail on May 19

Monday, May 18, 2020

Note to editors: Dr. Chris Farnitano, health officer for Contra Costa County, will be holding a live, virtual media availability today, 1 to 1:30 p.m. on Contra Costa Health Services’ Facebook page. Questions can be submitted before 12:45 p.m. to doc.pio@cchealth.org, or posted in the chat section during the Facebook Live broadcast. Dr. Farnitano will answer as many questions as time permits.

Thanks to progress made in containing the spread of COVID-19, Contra Costa County will relax restrictions in its shelter-in-place order to allow retail stores and their suppliers to reopen on Tuesday.

On May 19 at 6 a.m., retail stores in Contra Costa County may offer curbside sales or other outdoor pickups of orders as long as they abide by certain safety measures to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

Stores may not display merchandise for sale on tables or otherwise outside the stores. Customers may not enter the store or interior of any indoor shopping mall. Stores must also employ reasonable measures to require customers to comply with social distancing requirements at the pickup areas, including marking locations at six-foot intervals for customers to stand while waiting in line.

“While this is not a return to normal, it is one step in that direction” said Dr. Chris Farnitano, Contra Costa County’s health officer. “We will be closely monitoring the effects of allowing curbside retail on the spread of COVID-19 in the community.”

Contra Costa will also allow businesses that manufacture retail goods and provide warehousing or logistical support to retail stores to operate, but they must limit the number of staff in enclosed areas so that personnel can comply with social distancing requirements.

The changes mark a shift from allowing people only to shop at essential businesses, such as grocery stores and pharmacies. Dr. Farnitano said encouraging progress has been made in the two weeks since the most recent shelter-in-place order in reaching five goals or “indicators” went into effect:

The number of new cases of COVID-19 has been stable or decreasing, even with increased testing
The number of hospitalized patients with COVID-19 is stable, and we have adequate hospital capacity. As of May 17, there were 19 COVID-positive patients in Contra Costa hospitals – down from a high of 44 in mid-April
More COVID-19 tests are being performed in our region each day
Hospitals are reporting improved supply of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), though shortages continue in other healthcare settings
There is increased capacity for case investigation and contact tracing

Residents are still required by health order to stay home as much as possible, wear face coverings when they leave home, and to follow the precautions that have helped Contra Costa make progress to slow the spread of COVID-19, such as regular handwashing and social distancing. COVID-19 continues to pose a very significant risk to our communities, and continued vigilance is necessary to ensure that we do not see an increase in spread as more activities resume.

The endless, self-righteous whining I won’t miss. I’ve gotten used to the mask. If I had to choose between the two for the rest of my life…mask.

I wish they would provide a bit more detail. My little town keeps slowly inching up, but I wonder if it’s because there are a few senior facilities and rehab centers?

The San Francisco Bay Area went two consecutive days without recording a single death from coronavirus on Sunday and Monday — the first time that has happened since March.
They went from flatten the curve to find a cure!
