The person who died after being hit by a BART train Saturday afternoon at the Walnut Creek station appears to have ended up on the tracks by their own actions, a BART spokesman said Sunday.

“All indications are that the decedent acted independently,” BART spokesman James Allison said.

BART’s Walnut Creek station was closed for about 90 minutes at about 2:40 p.m.

The name of the victim hasn’t been released.

But did they have coronavirus?

This is not a time to say clever mean remarks. It is very a sad situation. Prayers for the family and friends! So sorry for this terrible news.

Y’all need to be a lil more compassionate. Thats someones family.

My prayers and thoughts go out to the victim and their family.

The people on this post who are making jokes about this tragedy should truly refrain from doing so as it is absolutely disgraceful and extremely disconnected you are from compassion if not heartless you are. My goodness!

Sometimes I wonder about people on here. First this happens on BART all the time and it’s horrible for not only the family of the person but also the Train Driver and the Station Attendant that has to deal with it. Years ago I was at 12th street when this happened and the Station Attendant had to come get us all of the train and we could hear the person under the train moaning. The Station Attendant had to go talk to the person till medical arrived. I know people think they are paid a lot but no thanks. Prayers for all involved.

What? Really? What are you anyway? Are you a freaking purple polka-dotted ethnic person?

That is a nasty remark and in very poor taste. You should be ashamed of yourself. That is awfully insensitive to say mindless crap like that.

They are called trolls for a reason.
Mostly self loathing knuckle dragging mouth breathers. They are filled with frustration and dissatisfaction from societal rejection of their misanthropiy.

The real victims are all of the innocent people on the train who were involuntarily involved in his death.

So very, very sad, to take one’s own life… God bless them, their family and friends.

If you’re going to kill yourself, just jump off the Golden Gate bridge. Why subject a whole bunch of other people to your misery by snarling up the entire BART system. Suicide is already such a selfish thing. Your pain is gone, but all of your loved ones are left to pick up the pieces and wonder why.
